Grand Package

    We had our wedding here this past month and wanted to share our experience, as I didn’t see any similar reviews when we were deciding whether to go with this venue or not. I’ll start out by saying I absolutely love the views here and the wine. They have a great space for a wedding, with many additions like linens, dishes etc included. The staff was also always very friendly and helpful to me. Unfortunately, had we known the following we probably would’ve gone elsewhere. First, the meeting house(reception space) was VERY hot and just got worse and worse throughout the night. This is somewhat expected in the summer and with a big crowd, but we had less than 50 people and it had to be at least 85 degrees(I’m sure higher) in there with no air flow. We were all wet with sweat by the end of the night. Several guests asked about AC(as it didnt feel like there was any), or turning on the fans, but were told the fans were still on “winter settings”(pulling air up) so they couldn’t turn them on. Another guest asked if there was anything they could do about the heat and they just stated that it was way worse last weekend during a wedding…which I can’t even fathom. If we would’ve known how uncomfortably hot this room would be for guests(even during dinner, prior to dancing!) we would not have gone with this venue. The AC in the groom’s room(downstairs) also did not seem to work, but I will note the AC in the bridal suite seemed fine. Another smaller detail was the wifi. There is little cell reception at the vineyard, but we felt it was fine because we could purchase a wifi package(50) listed in the wedding booklet. When we later requested to purchase the wifi package for ourselves and our guests we were told they’d get back to us but never did. They had explained the wifi crashes easily if more than a few people are using it. This should not be listed in the wedding booklet to be purchased if the wifi isn’t strong enough to even be used. A couple other small things: The ridge, where we got married, is gorgeous and they have many weddings there. It is on a slope and very windy, therefore it is not ideal for an arbor. Our arbor ended up falling over and breaking about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. Since this is a common ceremony space I think it would be wise to provide a flat landing for arbors(etc) so they are not sitting on a slope with wind. I’ll note that we did use sandbags to help hold down our arbor but they still did not help with the wind/slope. Last, we had previously purchased a bottle of blanc de blanc for our toast which they did not provide us with. Overall it was still a beautiful day and the space is gorgeous, but had we known these things, about the heat and wifi especially, we would’ve looked elsewhere.

    I absolutely adored working with the staff at Bluestone Vineyard. They were extremely kind and catered to any need I had! Wedding days can sometimes get a little crazy, but Lauryn and her staff were amongst the most organized and efficient people I've gotten to work with. The venue is not only gorgeous, but you won't be disappointed by the other amenities of having friendly, kind, and cheerful people working with you during your special day. :)
