Castle Hill Cider on the Borrowed & Blue Blog
The Barn at Castle Hill was built in 1998 as an arena for cattle auctions. Architects saw its potential as a fairytale wedding site and renovated the 11,000 square-foot structure. The classically-built post and beam barn radiates a sophistication over one of the most romantic and historic settings in Virginia. Exquisite in its architectural design, there is ample room for seated dinners and receptions that spill onto the terraced lawns. Circus-sized tents can be erected for covered events. Wedding ceremonies can be held indoors or out with stunning views in all directions. The main hall has a large open area and 45 square-foot stage. At one end is the Tasting Room with mahogany bar and fieldstone fireplace. Upstairs is a 3,000 square foot elevated Loft that can accommodate 200 guests, and a spacious, yet cozy, Library which was designed with the comfort of the bride and her attendants in mind.
The Linden Grove
European Linden trees were originally planted in an oval to form a racetrack for horses. Today the limbs link to create a natural shelter.
Outside the Tasting Room, wedding ceremonies are framed by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Late afternoon weddings are rewarded with stunning sunsets -- and incredible wedding photography.
Extending past the Cider Barn, terraced lawns are bordered by cherry trees and wisteria arbors.
At the foot of the terraced lawns, this shimmering jewel reflects the emerald landscape. In the evening, light from the barn twinkles in its surface.
