A few words from Elizabeth Larson....
Megan and Will's wedding festivities were held at the gorgeous King Family Vineyard just west of Charlottesville. The outdoor ceremony offered fantastic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, also making for a scenic backdrop for photos of the wedding party and families later. Megan and Will also requested a few photos to be taken at the horse stable, which was such a treat (they are both animal lovers...Megan is a veterinarian!).
The carriage house, where the reception was held, is both elegant and rustic at the same time, with tall ceilings, exposed beams, a huge stone fireplace, and beautiful hardwood oak floors. The decor and flowers created by Beehive Events were amazing! I absolutely ADORED the wedding programs, which doubled as fans, a great idea for an outdoor summer wedding. Will and Megan had an artist friend create silhouettes of the two of them, as well as of their two beloved cats printed on their programs.
Everything from the fabulous cuisine, to the fantastic band, to the home brewed "celebration amber ale" and the "celebration i.p.a." (made by the groom!), to the tasty wedding cake served with gelato an Italian ice cream, made for a truly fabulous one of a kind celebration!
Megan and Will met at the University of Virginia while in physics class as underclassman, so the university has special memories for them both. They continued a long distance relationship after graduation while Will was in medical school at The Medical College of Virginia and Megan at veterinary school at Kansas State University. The Charlottesville area meant so much to them as a couple, it was only fitting they chose this area of VA for their wedding. Since their wedding, they’ve settled into new careers and a new home. They reside in Madison, Wisconsin.
