Steve Taylor, owner of SMT Music, has been performing with the Louisville Orchestra as a Violinist in the first violin section for more than 30 years. A native of Toledo, Ohio he graduated from the University of Toledo in Violin Performance and was a member of the Toledo Symphony while in college. He later joined the Louisville Orchestra and attended graduate school at the University of Louisville (UofL).

SMT Music provides some of the finest musicians in the Louisville and surrounding Tri-State region. We are the perfect choice for your wedding, or Special Occasion. This ensemble of highly talented musicians has a wealth of experience, performing and recording with some of the most prestigious orchestras and entertainers performing today like Josh Grobin, Stevie Wonder, Electric Light Orchestra, Ricky Skaggs and many others. We combine classical with contemporary, bringing an elegant ambience to any occasion with a repertoire spanning across many musical genres.

  • Talented Musicians, Difficult Vendor

    I want to first of all say that the musicians were talented. I personally did not hear them based on my role in the wedding, but my family and friends all said that they were talented and they were timely and day of nothing was wrong and everything was good. However, the main contact for this company is incredibly difficult to work with. He sent many repetitive email me to myself and my venue coordinator. For example, he asked me in two separate emails and then also two separate emails to my coordinator, what time zone the wedding was happening in. I feel like that’s a detail that you can look up online and not bother people with. Per the report of my venue he was very difficult to work with and they encountered a lot of difficulty with him as well. We also had some discrepancy on which day my wedding was happening on, and I personally do not think I was at fault with this I believe it was an error on their part. Overall I do not think that the talent of the musicians outweigh the stress and difficulty of working with the main contact person.
