Sugar & Thread Cookies

My name is Paige Umstead and I am the owner/decorator of Sugar & Thread - a home based cookie bakery. In a former life I was a Package Engineer and then came... motherhood. Which, by the way, is still the best job ever (and that’s saying a lot because I have teenagers). I quit my job to be a stay at home mom in 2003. Through the years I have been a toddler gym class teacher, an aerobics instructor, a scrapbooker, a self taught costume maker, a secretary and now self-taught cookier. I have always liked trying new things. I absolutely love making cookies. If cookies bring you joy, I'm your girl.

My niche is probably my willingness to try just about any design my customers request. Typically they give me some background about the recipient and then I come up with designs to fit. I love the look of surprise when people come pick up their order. Truly the best job ever...well beside motherhood.
