Owner and Pastry Chef of The Cake Artist's Studio, Ashlee Roderick Freburg , is one of Central Illinois's foremost cake designers. In 1995, Ashlee received an A.O.S. Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Ashlee has also studied under master sugar artists Ewald and Susan Notter of The International School of Confectionery Arts and professional cake designer and winner of a gold medal at the 1988 Culinary Olympics, Betty Van Norstrand.

    1000% recommend, super friendly and amazing talent. Cake was delivered on time and painlessly. She worked with our florist to ensure perfect cake flowers and she nailed the design and the flavors- we wanted non-traditional wedding cake flavors and went with the bakery’s signature oatmeal cake with brown sugar coconut filling for the biggest layer and apple cider cake with salted caramel buttercream for the top layers and everyone went back for seconds! One of my favorite things is that the bakery offers cupcakes daily with many of the flavors so if we ever need a quick taste of our wedding we can easily go grab some cupcakes :)
