I’m Grace Troutman. I’m a wedding & elopement photographer who loves to frequent the West Coast, Hawaii, and the Midwest (where I grew up.) I approach working with my couples on their weddings from a place of trust and compassion, so I can document the day how it is true to them. No forced moments, no stiff posing, only true to life candid imagery. I’ve shot all over the world from Iceland, Ireland, & France to all over the Midwest, all the way to California and Hawaii, and I believe that you should say “I do,” in a place that makes you feel like home.

I've shot over 250 weddings in my photography career, and I pride myself on the experience I give all of my couples from streamlined communication, timeline planning, vendor recommendations, to the actual wedding day itself being a calm and happy presence on your day. I like being bold with my couples, and leading them through the shoot or wedding day telling their story the way it truly is to them. No forced moments, only documentation of your love for each other.

    Grace is the sweetest, hardworking, kind hearted person you’ll work with. Her love for not only the couple she works with but the other vendors/teams she works with is unlike any others. She takes time to truly ask how the venue/team is doing and really cares/listens to what you have to say. We’ve gotten to work closely with Grace throughout the years, whether it’s her shooting weddings or helping us to plan a yearly event that we host for photographers/videographers. Grace is incredibly knowledgeable in soooo many aspects, and has so much to share with the world. Her passion for photography drives her and shines through in her finished results.     Booking Grace T Photography was the single best wedding planning decision I made and I would do it again in an instant. From our first conversation to the most recent, everything was seamless. Going in, I knew her photography was perfection. What I was not expecting to receive was 800 flawless photos just from our wedding day alone, not to mention the adventure session (which she went above and beyond for) and engagement session. Her photo style captures so much EMOTION and viewing them takes us right back to the day. She also made getting photos taken fun! I couldn't help but laugh during our entire engagement session at how much fun my (now) husband was having (he typically dislikes taking even 1 photo). Additionally, I cannot get over Grace’s service. Grace has a relaxed vibe about her while remaining 1000% on top of everything. It is contagious and it put even my ever racing mind to ease. It allowed me to be SO much more present on our wedding day and for that I will FOREVER be grateful. I appreciate Grace allowing me to put complete trust in her and continuing to do laps around my already high expectations. Did I mention that this was all while Grace and Kyle received the most devasting family news on the morning of our wedding (which I had no clue about until later)? Their selflessness seriously bring tears to my eyes. Thank you, Grace & Kyle. Seriously. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

    Grace shot our April 2019 wedding in Hawaii on Oahu. We found Grace through a friend of ours and we immediately started following her on Instagram. The quality and look of her images were stunning. We wanted a photographer who was experienced and specialized in smaller, more intimate ceremonies, and we knew she fit the bill, but we really felt at ease after our first call. It’s hard to know where to start in looking for a photographer, but I loved that she was from the midwest (we are too) and was still so confident in shooting in different climates. She just made us feel so comfortable and we really felt like she knew what we wanted before we could even really articulate it. I was really struggling with the timeline, but Grace was so helpful in ensuring we had time for the photos we wanted. She was always so responsive and we felt very guided through the whole process. Our photos are BREATHTAKING and they are still getting all compliments and we’re coming up on five years! I remember the NIGHT OF the wedding, Grace had already sent over some sneak peeks and that just meant the world. It was just an amazing experience working and collaborating with Grace from start to finish. And even to this day, we keep in touch. She has done another adventure session with us and her team member shot my Aunt and Uncle’s vow renewal. So, I obviously recommend her as she very well may be taking all of our professional photos for the foreseeable future :)

    I've worked with Grace as a second shooter and one of the things that immediately stood out to me (and I've worked with a lotttt of photographers) is that she is the perfect combination of professionalism while simultaneously being her couple's biggest cheerleader. In doing so, she is able to make anyone feel comfortable and confident which absolutely translates to the final images. As a photographer myself, I appreciated her organization and communication throughout our time working together (both leading up to the wedding day regarding contracts, timelines, etc.) as well as on the day of the event (setting clear expectations as to what she wanted me to capture and when). Grace is a skilled artist - her work speaks for itself - but she also understands the weight of the work that is capturing one of the happiest days of your lives. Anyone lucky enough to work with Grace knows just how important they are to her as clients and that in and of itself speaks volumes.
