I transplanted to the Pittsburgh area from Central, IL and I’m loving my new home in western PA! My passion for weddings has blossomed over a number of years and I have a fine art degree in photography. My bread and butter is working with couples. Pretty much any love story – they’re all worth telling. At Kaitlin Powell Photography, I’m inspired by natural light and all the unique things that it touches, powered by wrinkled noses and laugh lines, and I fully believe that love is in the details. I want to explore and experience every. single. detail. – right along with you from the beginning of your engagement all the way till the end.

    Kaitlin was our photographer for our March 2023 wedding. We booked her almost two years in advance and she was amazing every step along the way. She made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot and on our wedding day. She managed to get so many beautiful shots that we will cherish forever. Kaitlin was also so organized and professional; she created a detailed timeline for us, answered what was probably an endless amount of questions, and responded to any emails quickly. I could not recommend Kaitlin more!

    Kaitlin worked with me and my husband for our June 2022 wedding. It's our anniversary and I wanted to celebrate by FINALLY writing reviews. Kaitlin was so friendly and responsive in our initial correspondence and lived up to her positive attitude in person. My partner and I are not photo people, we don't have very many photos together and aren't really relaxed in front of a camera-- enter Kaitlin-- we had so much fun at our engagement photo shoot! She helped us with outfit and location suggestions (both before hand and during the session!). We were really really really happy with the results and the added comfort from engagement photos helping us feel more sure we made the right decision for our big day. During wedding planning, Kaitlin was helpful with suggestions and dealt with my planning anxiety LIKE A PRO! She was great the day of and our photos turned out great! We were waiting for the email with photos like a dog looking for the mailman lol. They were excellent and more than expected! Definitely recommend Kaitlin for your event, do an engagement session, and book her for as many hours as you possibly can on the day of! All the best, M

    I first worked with Kaitlin when she shot a friend's wedding. To say that the timeline was completely lost was an understatement -- the best part about Kaitlin? She still got every shot and she did it with an absolute sense of calm. When we got engaged, I knew she'd be the right photographer to help me manage my Type A personality and do it with a smile. Flash forward -- When COVID-19 hit, Kaitlin was a sounding board. When we decided to postpone our wedding, she was quick with solutions. When we decided to elope? She helped us lock down a location, laughed and cried with us, and got the most amazing shots IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. One of the only good things about being a 'Corona-bride?' I get to shoot with her again next year when we do a big celebration. Quite frankly, she's the best there is. Her photos speak for themselves, but the experience she gives each and every bride and groom? It's priceless.
