About this venue
Experience the lush beauty of the Upland Sonoran Desert at Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden. With spectacular views of Picketpost Mountain, Boyce Thompson Arboretum (BTA) is located in scenic Queen Creek Canyon, just 30 minutes from Mesa, Arizona. The Arboretum is on the National Register of Historic Places. It features plant collections from the world’s deserts, historic buildings, and hidden gardens along miles of trails. Whether you explore the vast expanse of our desert paths or enjoy a peaceful moment under the trees of our Eucalyptus Forest, you are bound to encounter magical moments at every turn.

Yes, the client may bring their own alcohol. Hard liquor must be served by a licensed bartender. Legal restrictions regarding underage drinking will be strictly enforced and BTA does not allow shots. Boyce Thompson Arboretum assumes no responsibility or liability for underage drinking and reserves the right to ask an entire private party to leave if unlawful activity is observed. Alcohol & Bar service must conclude 30 minutes prior to the scheduled conclusion of the event..

Yes, complimentary guest parking is included with all of our wedding packages.
Yes, the majority of our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also can provide additional ADA accommodations upon request.
Your reservation includes 5 hours for the event plus 1 hour of set up and 1 hour of clean up time. Any additional time will be billed in alignment with the spaces rented.
Deposits are nonrefundable and the entire rental fee must be paid in full no later than 30 days prior to the event. The client must submit cancellations in writing to BTA no later than 31 days before the contracted event date. Cancellations received after the 31-day window of the contracted event date will be handled accordingly: - 15-30 Days Notice – 25% of the rental fee will be charged - 5-14 Days Notice – 50% of the rental fee will be charged - 1-4 Days Notice – 100% of the rental fee will be charged
The Arboretum is located in Superior, Arizona. The closest airport is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport which is locates about hour away. Rideshare services do not serve the arboretum so we recommend alternative modes of transportation.
All wedding clients must provide a certificate of insurance 14 days before their contracted wedding date. The certificate of insurance must include the following: - Clients must list Boyce Thompson Southwestern Arboretum as an additionally insured party - $1,000,000 in liability coverage - $100,000 in damage to premises rented coverage - $5,000 Medical Expense Limit Any vendors used by wedding clients will also be required to provide proof of insurance. BTA staff can assist with guidance in the acquisition of insurance.
