Located in the heart of Southern Virginia is the hidden jewel of Mimosa Lake. As you drive through the majestic entrance you will know you have found the perfect place to start your life journey with the one you love. Mimosa Lake is located across from historic Lunenburg Courthouse. The courthouse was built in the late 1700s and is one of three Thomas Jefferson designed courthouses in the United States. Mimosa Lake is an ideal location for a destination wedding or event. It offers Southern hospitality at its finest. The centerpiece of the property is the 30-acre private lake backdropped by 300 acres of open fields and 400 yr. old evergreen trees providing year-round beauty and privacy for your ceremony. The 7200 sq. ft. rustic barn pavilion and 420 ft. covered veranda overlook the lake. We are 30 minutes from Farmville, Blackstone, and South Hill Virginia. Description

Weekend Wedding Package- Use of the grounds and pavilion from 12pm to 9pm Friday for decorating, rehearsal, and the rehearsal dinner. Use of the grounds and facilities from 9am to 11pm on Saturday the day of the wedding. Clean-up until 12pm. on Sunday. The Lake House for the rehearsal dinner. The Man Cave the day of the wedding for the grooms party. The Bridal Cottage on Friday night for the bridal party for up to 8 guests and on Saturday night for the wedding couple.

The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake is a beautiful venue! The dance floor, multiple bar set ups, and number of bathrooms are all great assets to any event! The lake view is also a special touch!

The entire experience at Mimosa Lake was beyond anything I could have imagined. The lake and natural beauty of the area made my wedding pictures absolutely beautiful. I had a small wedding with close friends and family and the accommodations were phenomenal: all my party guests were captivated by the views alone. When my husband and I were planning our wedding I told him I wanted to get married at The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake and he agreed. I wanted an outside wedding by the water and this is the perfect place. My wedding was exactly what I wanted. The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake is definitely the perfect place to celebrate one of the most important parts of a couple's lives together.

The owners are wonderful, and go out of their way to make sure everything is satisfactory. The venue is set up with so many amenities. Available bridal party housing, food preparation station, numerous beverage stations, plenty of rest rooms and a 30 acre lake for a back drop. Can accommodate 300 people with plenty of parking. Indoor is air conditioned and heated. All in all, just a perfect place for your event.

The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake in its self is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The wedding venue has a breath taking view of the lake, a gazebo, a water fountain derived from the lake behind the gazebo, the amazing (and so uniquely and charmingly) decorated indoors, and so much more concerning the scenery. My husband and I had great pictures taken after our intimate ceremony; the photo opportunities are endless at this venue! The scenery is amazing, but what was even better was working with Cindy Foley. Cindy made our day so special. She made sure all of the details were perfect and she made sure we had absolutely everything we could ask for. My husband and I are forever grateful we decided on this venue for our special day! I highly recommended this location! Lastly, this location has connections with caterers, bartenders, bakers, videographers, photographers, DJs, and more! As I said earlier, Cindy is amazing and she will make sure your day is special at this beautiful venue!!

Alcohol is allowed for your event. We do not provide alcohol, but you can bring your own. You are required to use bartending services for your event. Self-serve bars are not permitted. We provide bartending services for an additional charge. An ABC license is not required as long as you meet the following criteria: the event is held at a private location(not a restaurant or club), it is a private event not open to the public, guests are not being charged for drinks(i.e. cash bar, cover charge, or admission), and the alcohol is not bought from a wholesaler.

We do require event insurance. You must have a $1,000,000 special event liability policy naming The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake as an additional insured for your event. Proof of insurance must be given to The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake at least 30 days prior to your event. Wedsure provides event insurance for $125.00. Go to https://www.wedsure.com to get coverage.

All cancellations must be done in writing. All payments are non-refundable. Cancellation insurance can be purchased through multiple providers. We do not require cancellation insurance, but we recommend it if you are concerned about the possibility of having to cancel for any reason.

The latest music can be played is 11pm, unless the end time for your event is before 11 pm.

Yes. Feel free to decorate the venue for your special day. Decorations may not be hung with tape, nails, or screws. All decorations must be removed without leaving damage as soon as the event ends. Any decorating that is done must be approved by The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake prior to the event. The use of birdseed, sparklers, and blowing bubbles is permitted only outside for the reception farewells. Rice, flower petals, confetti, glitter, and pyrotechnics are not permitted inside or outside the facility.

If it rains the day of your wedding and you cannot get married in front of the lake, we can have the stage inside the pavilion set-up for your wedding.

Smoking including vaping is not allowed in any building. Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking area if the bride wants to allow it.

Yes. We do require that your vendors be licensed and insured. A certificate of insurance must be provided at least 30 days prior to the event date.

We have seating for 200 people which includes the wedding party. We have 30 round tables, 6 rectangular tables, a round sweetheart table, an antique oak cake/dessert table, 160 white folding chairs, 10 cocktail stations under the veranda, 28 picnic tables under the veranda. The pavilion can host up to 300 guests for a cocktail style reception.

We do not provide table linens, however we can order them for an additional charge.

A reservation requires a $750 payment along with a signed contract to hold your date.

We provide simple and affordable interest free monthly payment plans. After signing the contract and paying $750 to save the date. The first payment will be due 30 days from the date of the signed contract. The final payment will be due 2 months before the wedding date.
