One look through these images from Marcus Krause Photography and you're sure to feel like you had front row seats to this beautiful fall day. Brooks & Sam's wedding was brimming with all of the details that make autumn fêtes some of my absolute favorites, from the cozy romance that punctuated this chilly day to the natural decor waiting for them at the reception. Not only that, but there are a ton of details marking the many loves of these two, including very New Orleans-inspired touches as they danced into the night and the orange & blue streamers covering their getaway horse-drawn carriage as an homage to their alma mater, UVA. With so much beauty to pore over, prepare to fall head over heels for all of this prettiness! Xoxo.
From the stunning bride....
Sam is from Richmond and I'm from Atlanta, so we wanted to get married in a place that was special for both of us. I have been coming to Cashiers since childhood, and we both cherish the times we spend at my parents' house at Lonesome Valley. We wanted to get married outside and couldn't imagine a more beautiful setting for our wedding--we also wanted to share this place we love with Sam's family and our friends who had never visited. We know Lonesome Valley is a place that we will be visiting for years to come, and we also loved the idea of coming back to our wedding location year after year.
Sam & I met when we were 18 years old our freshman year of college at the University of Virginia. We had immediate chemistry, he asked me to a fraternity date function that fall, we "officially" started dating about a year later, and the rest is history!
After graduating college, we each took jobs in separate cities--me in New York and Sam in New Orleans. After a year, we realized we wanted to be together, so I made the move from the Big Apple to the Big Easy. Two and a half years later, Sam finally popped the question! Corny, but he really is my best friend!
