Austin Wedding Trends: Photo Booths With A Twist

Anyone that has ever been to Austin knows that we like to "Keep It Weird." Known for our creativity and unique spirit, a fun, up-and-coming, trend I see in Austin weddings is the use of Airstream travel trailers. Yup, we’re bringin’ ‘em back. I’ve seen them used as lounges, honeymoon suites, and man caves - but most frequently, they are popping up on the scene as photo booths!

Not only are photo booths in Austin becoming more and more standard at weddings, couples are using the images to create a memorable guest book. Guests rush for rights to the most outlandish of costumes and most certainly engage in a battle of wits for most comedic of well wishes. I mean, who doesn’t want their most embarrassing picture plastered in someone’s coffee table book for the rest of all time? Photo booths, and particularly those in an Airstream, are a huge crowd pleaser.

As a wedding planner, you’ll find that I like to give my brides some choices. So alas, I bring you a few of my friends in the Airstream world.

I’ll start by introducing Airstream Photo Booth™ to you! These guys created the category in early 2011!! As innovators, they have had the experience to tweak the process and adapt to the demands. If you are familiar with the area, you’ll recognize the iconic “Greetings from Austin” mural on the side of their Airstream. Having taken save-the-date pictures in front of this mural, I have a special place in my heart for its true Austin vibe.

Next, we have The Photo Toaster! Having a professional background in photography, you’ll find this Airstream retrofitted with the best that studio lighting has to offer. In the spirit of Austin character, The Photo Toaster loves our community so be sure to ask how you can partner with The Photo Toaster for not only your Austin wedding, but even your favorite charity event!

And last but by no means least, we have Bambi Booth. I met this fun crew at a recent event and just loved the way they set themselves apart with vintage marquee letters atop their booth. In Austin, you can never have too much flair. What’s in a name? There were about 1100 Airstream Bambis built in 1962 and they are known for their cute, tiny, little size!

Just like any regular photo booth, you’ll find my three Airstream friends all offer awesome props, great backgrounds, and the ability to customize your photo strip! All booths can hold a handful of your friends and don’t worry, most venues in the area are all about the added touch of an Airstream. If you don’t find an Airstream on their pre-approved vendor list, just ask!

Amber clearly knows her stuff when it comes to Austin weddings! Make sure you add Heavenly Day Events to your Borrowed & Blue WishList so you can have her expertise for your own Austin wedding!
