From the glowing bride....
Kevin & I met on a blind date set up by mutual friends. We met our friends at a place that is truly "Austin:" the Dart Bowl. We had an amazing night of bowling, enchiladas, and great conversation and realized we had to see each other again! We continued to date and eventually moved in together downtown and loved living in the heart of Austin. Four years and one dog later, Kevin proposed on a beautiful winter night at the "Trail of Lights" with a view of the Austin skyline.
The goal was to keep the wedding simple and elegant. We went with an all-white theme with hints of purple and gold. We knew we wanted to get married in a beautiful setting that would be serene and sacred, but also allow our guests to enjoy the Austin nightlife. All the guests stayed downtown and we celebrated all week with family, food, drinks, and nights out on the town. June 21st is the day of the summer solstice. We felt it was a good omen to get married on the longest day of the year with the most light. The Hummingbird House is a beautiful outdoor garden which was an appropriate venue to celebrate the solstice and our love. We tried to add unique touches like a saxophone quartet for our ceremony music, a ring-warming ceremony that involved all of our guests, and a choreographed first dance. Our night was magical and romantic, and we are so grateful that we both showed up to that bowling alley four years ago!
