    Birmingham Bachelor Party Ideas

Seated in the South, Birmingham's charm is undeniable, and its affinity for good times is even more well known. Sounds like the best place to throw down with the dudes, to us.

The bachelor party is a time-honored tradition as the groom's last hoorah with his boys before becoming a married man. Luckily, Birmingham is bustling with so much life that the celebration can take any form: from craft beer to whiskey tastings to infinite outdoor recreation, the options are limited only by your imagination. So how does a guy throw a killer bachelor party in Birmingham with so much to choose from? We’ve done all the legwork for you and come up with a guide on where to eat, where to drink, and where to play for an awesome bachelor weekend.

    Friday

Chances are, you'll be kicking off the weekend festivities after a long work week, so a simple, low-key dinner is the perfect way to ease into the fun. Be sure to snag reservations at Hot And Hot Fish Club, home to Chef Chris Hastings (who was named "Best Chef in the South" in 2012 by the James Beard Foundation). The kitchen dishes out impeccable Southern plates with French leanings that we promise you and the boys will gobble up in a second. Wash it down with a cocktail or four, and consider yourself well on your way to a weekend of all things bachelor.

      Saturday Morning/Afternoon

Start your morning off at Bogue’s Diner for the most important meal of the day; you're going to need plenty of energy for the outdoor adventures that await. Bogue’s has been around since 1938 as a local favorite. We suggest the "Linebacker Breakfast" for the big eaters of the group, but the omelettes are killer, too.

Birmingham is a total playground for the outdoorsy dudes who prefer to be one with nature. Ruffner Mountain Park has some of the best hiking around, or if your bunch loves a little adrenaline rush, visit the zip line at Red Mountain Park. If it were our bachelor weekend in Birmingham, we’d be packing some coolers full of brews and heading for a lazy float down the Cahaba River.

Alternatively, check out any of these outdoor activities:

Paintball | Let's face it, dudes love shooting things at each other. There are a few spots around Birmingham to embrace the spirit of paintball. Try Fort Red Rock, just 25 minutes outside of downtown Birmingham. If you're willing to go a little further, Central Alabama Paintball Park has a great facility.

Skeet shooting | Southern Skeet & Trap is just ten minutes from Birmingham.

Paragliding | For the real adventure seekers, it's time to take to the skies. Birmingham Paragliding is fully certified and will get you up in the air with less than an hour of instruction.

Hanging in the outdoors not really your thing? Hook yourself up with a brewery tour at Good People Brewing. For $10, you and the boys can get a tour of the brewery and hangout in the tasting room for a few hour throwing back some cold ones.

      Saturday Evening

When the sun sets and it's time to hit the town, head straight to Zydeco in downtown Birmingham. This three-level venue has an atmosphere for every can of party: think game rooms with pool tables, video games, and a full-on concert hall that features local bands as well as big name players like Luke Bryan and Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Other great places to consider hitting up include Dave's Pub, Nana Funks, and Garage Cafe.

When the late-night munchies call, Al’s Deli & Grill will be there to satisfy that gyro craving. They’re open 24 hours, so stop in after last call.

      Sunday

To wind down with a little quality time before the weekend ends, set an early morning tee time at the Highland Park Golf Course. Just a mile from downtown Birmingham, this course is an excellent choice for getting in a quick round and taking in the green space that elevates Birmingham's otherwise urban landscape. They do require you call five days ahead of time for a tee time though, so make sure your best man is on top of it.

With all there is up Birmingham's sleeve, this weekend itinerary is just one of the millions of combinations for a badass bach party. Just keep in mind the type of groom you have on your hands, and tailor the weekend to suit his style. You surely won't run out of ideas—Birmingham awaits with beers to be chugged, rivers to be kayaked, golf to be played, and male bonding to be had.
