Charleston is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. The charm that radiates from this city is unmatched, and this makes it a perfect destination to marry your true love, especially when it is where your love came to be. Shannon & Coleman, College of Charleston sweethearts, couldn't have imagined tying the knot anywhere other than this town that they both love so much. Their wedding was a classy Southern affair, with minimal decor as they wanted to highlight the character of South Carolina Society Hall. Manukin Photography spent the day with our beautiful couple documenting every last white and navy detail, and the result was simply divine. Congrats newlyweds!
Coleman grew up in Mount Pleasant and graduated from Wando High School in 2004. He also went on to receive his Bachelor's from the College of Charleston, and met his future wife on his last spring break as a CofC Cougar.
Shannon grew up in Charleston and graduated from Bishop England High School in 2007. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from College of Charleston, where she met the boy of her dreams.
Shannon & Coleman love spending time together, with friends and family, and their two labrador retrievers, Buoy and Botany. Their perfect day is a day spent on water enjoying the view and few cold beverages.
Shannon & Coleman first met while on spring break in the Florida Keys in March of 2009. It was Shannon's second year at The College and Coleman's last. Mutual friends brought them to be week-long next door neighbors in Big Pine Key, FL. The house Coleman and his friends rented was much nicer than the one Shannon and her friends were staying in -- this obviously led to Shannon and her roommates, Jessica and Claire, spending the majority of their time next door enjoying Bahama Mamas in the pool.
After meeting Coleman for the first time at the beginning of the week, she knew he was in love when he told her where his secret stash of bourbon and ginger ale was. Shannon spared no time upon returning home, in telling her mother of the older Sigma Nu who had fallen for her.
They returned to Charleston, and it wasn't long before Coleman was trying to swoon her with his parents' cute new springer spaniel pup, Tuna. And, it may have just worked.
They grew to be good friends over the next several months, but they did not share their first kiss until that November in the mountains of North Carolina, but Coleman says it was well worth the wait.
Living in Charleston and enjoying marital bliss!
