Vendors in this Wedding
We only used the Pavilion and the field for a Sunday wedding. The backdrop was beautiful with the Blue Ridge Mountains and clear blue skies. We were able to use the barns as picture back drops and I think we even had horses in the field adjacent to the pavilion. The pavilion was well ventilated and the bathrooms were set up so that the ladies from the Bridal party got ready there. There was a sofa and mirrors and even a heater in there if it got cold (it didn't, it was the hottest day in September that year.) We did have a buffet style meal and it was easy to navigate for the guests and there was a small grassy area next to the pavilion where we had set up corn hole boards. We were quite pleased with the price point and the availability of resources for our DIY, country-style wedding.
Will's pictures were fantastic. Somewhere between Will, my husband, and I the ball got dropped. I'd never had wedding pictures taken before and while I was getting ready Will asked me for a list of the types of pictures I wanted. Apparently he'd asked my husband who never gave him the list and never asked me. I mistakenly assumed the photographer would take the lead and tell me where he wanted me etc. I had to make a list on the fly and looking back there were some photo-ops that I missed because I had to make it while my hair was getting done. I wasn't prepared for that. I would recommend that you have a list ready so that things don't get missed.
The Korner restaurant provided us with a BBQ style buffet, with chicken fingers for the kids, mac n cheese, and loads of other sides. We also got some appetizers from them (they did not make our pies, they were made by a cooking school in Richmond). The food was excellent for 100 people and we had more than enough leftovers to share with our family members. They also provided tea and lemonade as non-alcoholic beverages. We had great service from them. We would use them again for any sort of cook-out style catering.
Keith was exactly what we asked for. He played what we asked for and he definitely did not play what we didn't want. He is a no frills DJ because we aren't fancy people and it wasn't a fancy wedding.
