Vendors in this Wedding
Elizabeth and Jay are absolute pleasures to work with, and we are so pleased to have our wedding on their property. They were incredibly professional in their communication, and as an out-of-town couple they provided much needed peace of mind. Charlottesville and its surrounding areas have many beautiful venues to choose from, and honestly it all depends on each couple's needs. Here are some points that highlight the value from Westwood Farm: -Elizabeth will be your day-of coordinator in addition to assisting in the overall planning process. She is incredibly organized, candid in her suggestions, and very hands on whenever you need. She is best for couples who are clear about their handful of priorities and want to leave details to a professional. If you are comfortable with describing your vision and letting Elizabeth handle the process then she's your lady. But if you are a bride or groom who wants to be in control of every little step (totally understandable), then we would recommend very heavy communications and expectations-setting up front to avoid frustration. -The venue is really picturesque and gorgeous in a rustic way. If you are looking for luxury or intense creature comforts for your guests I'd say inquire more about how Elizabeth and Jay can accommodate. For us Westwood Farm was just perfect, and our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful it was. Granted we did have amazing weather and a full moon. Note that the actual Bed and Breakfast itself is fantastic and indeed luxurious, but not for the use of your guests. -Elizabeth and Jay have incredibly good working relationships with other vendors in the area. We simply had to connect them and let the magic happen. Naturally you will still have to meet/conference with your vendors separately to iron out details, but we had absolutely zero worries the day-of. -We also used Westwood Farm as our florist since we do not care about this part in a detailed way. They are really great to work with if you are clear about your colors, budget, and style. Again, Elizabeth and her team excel at making magic happen in an "understated elegance" way that accentuates natural beauty. You can see it easily from our pictures. She also honored our price even though weather-related issues caused a shortage of blooms from her garden. Overall, we would say Westwood Farm is not going to be the cheapest option, but it was of tremendous value. We had an amazing experience with Elizabeth and Jay, and would recommend any couple getting married to at least talk to them. They have a knack of helping you feel grounded in this potentially crazy process!
