I must admit that I am a little giddy over this sweet Hawaii wedding! Heather & Caleb are absolutely precious, and their wedding day was no different. With a rainbow of preppy colors keeping things light & fresh, these lovebirds tied the knot in true style. Karen Loudon Photography captured some of the most amazing images of these two on the beaches of Maui celebrating their love & new marriage. We are overjoyed to be sharing the gem today and wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness! xo
From the photographer....
The bride got ready at the Grand Wailea in Maui. They had a first look at Poolenalena beach park, and we finished the pre-ceremony pictures on the grounds around Mulligans on the Blue. Then it was off to the church for the ceremony, followed by sunset pictures at Maluaka Beach, and then back to Mulligans on the Blue for the reception.
The Washington State Cougars were playing against San Diego State on September 17, 2011, in San Diego. At the time, Heather had been living in San Diego for 5 years and was excited to welcome several college friends and her brother, Brian, into town for the big Cougar football game. As part of the tailgate festivities, Heather's close group of friends in San Diego (several Coug alumni included) decided to include the "Big Woody" party bus as the method of transportation to and from the game. The Big Woody is owned and operated by fellow Cougar alumni Devin Luther, who happened to be a close childhood friend of Caleb. Caleb and his friend Jon Vasquez were looking for a good weekend to visit their buddy, Devin, and the two of them showed up on the "Cougar" party bus that day - Caleb proudly wearing his purple Husky t-shirt.
Caleb and Heather almost didn't get a chance to meet because Caleb nearly got pushed off the bus with his purple Husky shirt. After the shouting and yells of outrage subsided, Caleb and Heather instantly noticed each other, and it didn't take long for conversations to follow. As timing always seems to play a role in finding the perfect match, it just so happened that Heather's company had made her an offer to relocate to Seattle, and she was in the middle of a big decision to move back home when the two met. Throughout the next several weeks which turned into months, Heather and Caleb started dating each other long-distance from San Diego to Seattle with flights back and forth. Heather formalized her offer to move back to Seattle, and three months later, Caleb flew down to San Diego to help Heather with the moving trucks and drive back to her hometown of Seattle. It was a memorable and romantic road trip up the California and Oregon coast with a stop for Thanksgiving in Napa... and they roled back into Seattle conveniently on Apple Cup Saturday with Heather in her Cougar Crimson and Caleb in his Huskie purple. The rest is history!
