Formed by DJ Matty Stuart in 2005, MD Music and Entertainment is a boutique DJ company with a focus on wedding entertainment. We spend a LOT of time getting to know our clients to ensure that each music set is as personalized as possible. We never want to play the same set over and over. We LOVE music and we got into this business to play amazing music for amazing people. We also believe that Love is Love and have proudly DJed many weddings and events for the LGBTQIA community for over 15 years.

Choosing a DJ for our wedding was hands down the scariest part of the planning process. We knew that a stellar DJ was imperative for a successful reception, and DJ Matty not only met but exceeded every expectation, making our dream day a reality! Early in the planning, Matty shared an app that was a game-changer to how we approached music for the entire day. This app became our musical headquarters, allowing us to build playlists on Spotify and seamlessly upload them and was so incredibly helpful throughout the process. In our final meeting leading up to the wedding, it was crystal clear just how seriously Matty took his role. He meticulously walked through every moment, discussing our music choices and must-plays to fully grasp the vibes we wanted for each part of the day. Any concerns we had about a surprise bad DJ vanished after that meeting. Beyond being our DJ, Matty also provided uplighting and live musicians for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They flawlessly played the unique songs we chose, setting the perfect tone. Matty's MC skills were phenomenal, keeping the reception flowing smoothly without any cringe-worthy moments – a vital quality for us. I might be biased, but our dance floor was the best I've ever seen. Matty effortlessly got everyone, from all age groups, onto the dance floor, blending our unique song choices with crowd-pleasers that kept the floor packed all night. Even my teenage nieces had the time of their lives! We've received countless compliments from guests about the fantastic music, and we owe it all to Matty. We are immensely grateful for him making our wedding the best day of our lives and will undoubtedly hire him again for future events!

Matty is so amazing to work with. He is very easygoing, and provides plenty of guidance on the process. He was very flexible and I got so many complements on the music on my wedding day! I cannot recommend Matty enough!

We like to dress to impress! Generally we are in a suit and tie, but we can definitely make sure we fit in to the design and style of the event. From black-tie to beach-chic, we make sure to coordinate with you about this (and every) detail for the party.

Yes! First and foremost, our set-list for the night is completely customized from the newlywed's preferences. We will have extensive discussions about the music choices for the night and we provide a music app where you will be able to hand select the songs you want (and don't) want to hear. From this, we will be able to incorporate any on-the-fly requests from guests.

Definitely! We can definitely provide additional music and sound equipment for ceremonies and cocktail hours. For the ceremony, we will also be able to provide a microphone for the wedding officiant and anyone else who might be speaking during the ceremony. Music will be playing while guests are arriving to the ceremony starting 30 minutes before it starts.

Yes we are fully insured and can provide a liability certificate for any venue.

We are generally there at least 2-3 hours before any guests arrive. This allows us to be completely set-up in each area we will be playing music (ceremony space, cocktails, dinner/dance room), sound check all of our equipment, get changed, and be ready to rock!

We do! We have lots of lighting and photobooth options. We also have a wide range of live musicians for the ceremony and cocktail hour and even some that can play along WITH the DJ during the dinner/dance reception.
