There's a lot of things to love about wine country, namely the wine. But, we love this beautiful region of California for another reason — the spectacular, sun-drenched weddings! Today we're swooning over Jenifer & Beau's gorgeous wedding day at The Perry House, captured just beautifully by Mike Danen Photography. Allowing the prettiness of the venue and their love for one another shine above all, the sweet bride and groom crafted a day filled with subtle, yet elegant decor choices with a wine country flair, such as a wine barrel top guest book and floral arrangements crafted out of old wine crates. And, of course, these two foodies had amazing wines and foods at their day, too (we're dying to try a bite from the fabulous taco bar!). Monterey has stolen our hearts, and we know it will steal yours, too... have a look!
From the gorgeous bride...
As a busy medical resident, I had spent very little time thinking about where I would potentially want to be married. After Beau proposed in July 2013, we started pouring through wedding venue websites until we chanced upon the Perry House. We knew we wanted a destination fall wedding somewhere on the Central California Coast due to our love of travel, good food, and good wine. As soon as we came across the Perry House, we knew that this was the place for us. With its distinctive charm, this restored Victorian Home that sits just off the water, was the perfect mix of old and new. Between the cozy fire pit, unique wood fire pizza oven, beautiful stained glass windows, and amazing views of the Monterey Bay, we quickly signed a contract. They have an in house catering company that provides food that is out of this world. The staff at the Perry House made the wedding planning process as easy as it could be.
The venue speaks for itself and needed little in the way of decoration, but Melody of Fleurish Floral Designs did an incredible job with floral arrangements and incorporating beautiful fall colors. Drawing from our love of wine, we used recycled wine crates filled with flowers for centerpieces and an old wine barrel top for our guest book.
The talented Mike Danen of Mike Danen Photography beautifully captured our wedding in both photo and video. He is an amazing photographer with an excellent eye for the small details. His pictures genuinely captured the love and excitement of our big day.
For our guests, it was a destination wedding and we wanted to make the weekend as memorable and beautiful as possible. Thank you so much to The Perry House and our incredible vendors for helping make this a reality. We hope that many couples in the future are able to experience the same joy on their wedding day at this beautiful venue!
Having recently moved to Salt Lake City from Las Vegas, I had traveled home for a few last items. As I boarded the plane in Las Vegas, little did I know I would sit next to my future husband. In his words, we met on a Monday, and within a week we knew. Our chance encounter on a Southwest flight turned into the beginning of our love story together. Beau proposed to me on our birthday weekend 2 years later on the balcony of an Italian Restaurant in Park City, UT. After a year of engagement, we married this fall in Monterey amongst all our family and friends. We wanted the ceremony to be personal and decided to write our own vows. We feel incredibly blessed to have been able to share this special day with those people who mean the most to us. Marrying my best friend was truly the best day ever!
