What happens when you combine simple sentimental details with a fabulous ranch setting in the hills of wine country, and enlist the help of Ooh La La Weddings & Events to turn your vision to life? Well, as you can clearly see, the result is a beautiful, laid-back springtime affair that we will be pining over for days. After scouring the internet, Hilary & Matt found Olympia's Valley Estate and knew it had everything (and more!) that they were looking for, and they couldn't wait to share it with their loved ones. Mariah Smith Photography's photos of this day have completely grabbed hold of my heart - the serene ceremony location surrounded by decade old weeping willows, the quiet moments on the pond spent alone as newlyweds, and the gorgeous warmly lit sunset. Take some time to read what Hilary wrote below, she perfectly describes every little detail that went into their special day!
From the blushing bride....
Matt & I fell in love with Olympia's Valley Estate. I found it online while on a hunt for a barn and the property provides so much more than that. I couldn't wait to share this special place with all of our friends and family on our wedding day and watch everyone enjoy this landscape. We fell in love with the whole Petaluma area, and really enjoyed making the trip up from our apartment in San Francisco to explore Petaluma and Bodega Bay and take in the scenery. The Olympia's Valley girls were also so easy to work with.
We were so inspired by the natural beauty of Olympia's Valley that we knew we didn't need many embellishments inside the romantic barn. Our color scheme was inspired by a collection of cobalt blue glass bottles that my grandfather owned. Olympia's Valley provided additional blue glass bottles from their collection of antiques. Aimee Lomeli provided our florals and filled the assorted bottles with a wildflower motif of soft whites and blushes with pops of blues and rich purple. We also decorated the tables with an assortment of lace family heirloom handkerchiefs and hand embroidered handkerchiefs that we found in thrift stores.
Instead of a traditional guest book, we asked our guests to write us a note and put the message in a bottle. Our guests also enjoyed our signature drinks during the cocktail hour - The Victorian Tea with earl infused gin & elderflower liquor and The Olde Johnston with bourbon and bitters.
We had so much fun on our wedding day and felt like we got to be guests at our own wedding because Lindsey Hintereder with Ooh La La Weddings took care of everything behind the scenes. We enjoyed the delicious food from Feast Catering, which highlighted the bounty of Sonoma County. Culinary treats like wild salmon tartare & grilled red wine soaked tri tip. Forget Me Not made us an unforgettable cake, and we got to hit the dance floor to enjoy the dance party by our DJ Aaron Long.
We really enjoyed working with our vendors and have loved reliving the day by pouring over the wonderful photos that our photographer Mariah Smith captured.
