My name is Lauren.
I have always had a deep love for all things creative- from painting to sculpting, from knitting to metalsmithing, from videography to photography! Having these roots established deeply while also not fearing to explore other realms has made me a more fearless and aware photographer. While looking through gallery samples please know what my vision is for this particular craft: I am BLESSED to be given the opportunity to capture and preserve a moment in time from YOUR LIFE.
I was born in Lansing, Michigan and raised in the Nashville, TN area. My husband, Kappel, and I have travelled together to several different places all over the globe as missionaries. This has dramatically changed the way we look through the lens. We are BEYOND blessed to now be in a Nashville, TN - based community, completely surrounded by amazing creative people who inspire us and make us laugh every single day! We love it here- but we love to hit the road and travel someplace new any chance we get, so if you're out of town... don't even worry about it!
I like to use natural light to "paint" my subject rather than using false lighting. When you open up time in your day to let me shoot you, you are being very vulnerable and i feel natural light is the best way to convey intimacy.
Can also be booked boudoir set, I love to photograph women. I am open to being as open as you are. Being raised in the south, I know how to make you feel comfortable and less awkward baring all in front of the camera! By the way, barons all doesn't mean nudity. It means opening yourself up to being vulnerable with me, to let the true beauty in you shine through. Booking a glamour session is a nice thing to do before you're married- and give him the photos later in down the road as a surprise!
I am passionate about shooting weddings because I am passionate about shooting people! I am there to capture ever detail- your sister dancing with "that boy" who in a few years will become her husband, and your grandparents holding hands... Who may not be here in a few more years. I do an engagement session with every single client. Why? Think of it as practice for the wedding day. Alot of people feel uncomfortable when in front of the camera (I do!) and this warms us up to each other! It helps us figure out how we are going to work together on the most important day!
