When it comes to capturing the romance and elegance of Nashville weddings, in our eyes, Erin of The Collection can do no wrong. Each day she sends is brimming with elegance and romance, reminding us why we adore Southern soirées so much. And Courtney & Robbie's Nashville wedding does all this so flawlessly. Each component of the day was filled with sentimental touches, incorporating generations of the bride's family in all of the festivities. How you ask? We'll let Erin tell you all about that! Xoxo.

    From the photographer....

Courtney & Robbie met at camp as teens and had a summer camp romance. Because they came from opposite sides of the state, they never thought that they would see each other again, until one day while waiting in line at a sandwich shop, Courtney heard Robbie call her name. They had been both been going to the same college.

Courtney & Robbie were married on October 5th. Courtney based the whole wedding theme around the story of how her great-grandparents met and married. Her great-grandparents met while working together in the farm fields and would leave love notes for each other under a tree stump in one of the fields. After some time, Courtney’s great-grandfather left a note asking Courtney’s great-grandmother to marry him. They went straight from work to be married and because in those days you didn’t wear your shoes to work to keep from ruining them, Courtney’s great-grandmother went barefoot. Courtney incorporated this story into her wedding by having a tree theme. Family trees were displayed at the reception, wire trees were the table centerpieces, and rather than having a unity candle or a sand ceremony, they had a tree planting ceremony. Courtney & Robbie's families brought dirt from the each of the couple’s childhood homes. A unplanted tree for Courtney & Robbie’s future home was place on the alter. After each mother was escorted down the aisle, she would dumped her yard’s dirt into the new tree’s pot. Courtney & Robbie then watered the tree during the ceremony. And because her grandmother was barefoot, Courtney walked down the aisle barefoot. Another moment to note was the surprise gift from Robbie of a strand of pearls and earrings. These also play into their summer camp love story At summer camp Courtney wore a strand of fake pearls and Robbie would pull Courtney by the necklace to sneak her away to give her a kiss.
