At Amaranth we are all about creating memories, bringing joy, and touching people through the art of floristry. We love flowers … and that comes out in our artfully crafted creations. Borrowing our name (Amaranth) from a mythical flower that lives forever our goal is to share with you the joy that flowers promise. Whether it is a wedding, special occasion, virtual design class, or just because, we select the best blooms to create unique floral designs that make you smile every time you look at them. We've been around for almost 40 years and love what we do and can't wait to share it with you!

Amaranth Florist has been around for almost 40 years, but Melissa Parker took ownership of it in August of 2018 and began the process of both honoring relationships with the long-time customers while developing a new clientele. With a new marketing and rebranding strategy and a renovation to update the aesthetic of the flower shop, Amaranth maintained its well-established reputation but moved in a bold and exciting new direction. Melissa immerses herself in every wedding or event and works hard to understand and connect with her clients so that she and her talented team can craft the perfect floral creation for them.

    Melissa from Amaranth was an absolute angel and really stood out from the other florists in the Villanova area because of how accommodating and reasonably priced she was. We wanted to do something unique and have sustainable centerpieces that were potted plants rather than cut flowers and we bought our own pots to help with the cost. She was the only florist willing to take on this additional complication and even spent time with me helping me select pots that would look good together. She made the centerpieces absolutely beautiful with clusters of multiple pots and plants of different heights and colors. Several of the guests still have the pots and plants in their home! Also, we had a hindu ceremony and needed a very decorative chuppah style structure. Her team did an absolutely beautiful job with a natural wood structure, beautiful greens and flowers, even though they had less time to set it up than planned due to issues with other vendors. Melissa is extremely personable and hardworking and is trying to make the day special for us without charging an arm and a leg. Our wedding would not have been the same without her at all and so glad she was part of our wedding. Thank you Melissa!!!

    Melissa and her team did an unbelievable job with my wedding flowers. They were so kind, efficient, and adaptable. They took my many inspirations and visions and made them better than I could have imagined. They can literally do anything. My wedding guests have not stopped talking about our breathtaking mandap (altar) and garlands for our Indian ceremony even months later. As far as wedding vendors go, Melissa was a dream to work with and I was so happy and proud to be supporting a Black-owned business. Our reception centerpieces were as unique, festive, and creative as we'd hoped for. Our experience was worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and hire them. We even had a mini wedding earlier in the pandemic and they provided a beautiful flower crown and a few arrangements for that as well.
