After meeting at a church in San Diego, Micaela & Charles quickly bonded over their faith and, soon after, fell head over heels for each other. So of course a traditional celebration at their church was the perfect way for these two to wed! Joel and Amber Wedding Photography captured their beautiful fall wedding, and we couldn't be more thrilled to share it with you today — the emotional connection between these two is palpable! Even though these two waited to lay eyes on one another at the altar, they carved a few minutes from their day to hold hands around a corner of the church and pray together before the ceremony began, and we'd be fibbing if we said we didn't tear up a bit when we first caught a glimpse of this special moment.
And then there's the reception — it has us wiping away those tears and grinning from ear-to-ear! Not only was the place decked out with gorgeous coral roses and a colorful wedding cake that was (almost) too cute to eat, it was obvious that their friends and family were having a fabulous time getting down on the dance floor and soaking up the contagious love of the bride & groom, which, in our view, is the best detail a wedding day could possibly have!
From the photographer...
Micaela & Charles met when Charles moved to San Diego to finish training as a Naval pilot. He had been looking for the perfect girl, but had yet to find just the right one. Charles met Micaela at the church he was attending, and the rest was history. Not only was she perfect, beautiful, and more than he ever dreamed, she also shared his faith. As they planned their wedding, every moment of their story became more and more beautiful. Their love and excitement escalated with every passing day as they began to discover a deep and passionate love backed by their shared love of Christ. When the wedding day finally arrived, their ecstatic joy flowed through their smiles and lit up their faces. You couldn't even look at them without a grin tugging on your own face. Their deep love for each other was about to be rewarded. Micaela & Charles took the time to pray together before the wedding, and it was one of the most beautiful, emotional, and touching moments I have ever experienced. Everything they had been dreaming of and waiting for was present at that moment, and they just overflowed with a joy so deep you couldn't help but feel it. Every moment of the entire day was filled with joy, excitement, energy, and passion.
