Annie & Ben wanted their wedding to have a spiritual feel, and between their venue of choice and decor, they achieved a magical atmosphere for their big day. Of course, Marcel and Meher Photography's talents added to the look of the big day in the form of photos. Annie chose a flower crown in lieu of a veil, and had her bridesmaids wear them as well, giving the whole wedding party an eclectic look. The hanging rocks displayed behind the couple, at the alter, lent the whole ceremony a back-to-nature feel that continued into their open-air reception. The white lanterns, fairy lights, and bonfire gave the event a warm feel that carried on late into the night, with the couple ending their big day roasting marshmallows over the open fire.

    From the photographer...

While traveling through California, Annie & Ben fell in love with the raw, magical beauty of the Big Sur area. When they decided to to tie the knot, they knew immediately that they wanted to have their wedding in Big Sur. The scenery is breathtaking, the weather is mild, and you have the feeling of being at the edge of the world. It was important to Annie & Ben to have a spiritual vibe, while not being connected to any organized religion in particular. And what could be more spiritual than having an entire wedding day in the open air — experiencing the midday sun, the magical sunset, dancing, and making s'mores under the stars.

    Our Love Story

We were both members of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, a student run organization at Harvard Law School that provides free legal services to low income individuals in the Greater Boston Area. We met for the first time at the welcome BBQ for new members — I was a new member, beginning of my second year of law school, and Ben was a returning member, in his third and last year of law school. We were both struck by each other that night, but we didn't really connect until about a month later, when I walked into the intake room while Ben was answering phones. We started talking, and we haven't stopped ever since!
