Navy blue and white might be my most favorite color combo ever. Add in a dash of grey and some subtle bling, and it's perfect - classic, timeless, and oh-so elegant. Stephanie & Derek wanted a romantic, sophisticated, intimate day and I am certain they couldn't have picked a better place for it. The San Ysidro Ranch is breathtaking from first glance, and as I scroll through Mary Jane Photography's photos, it only gets better - the romantic cottages and fragrant gardens of the grounds revealing itself to the guests as the night progresses. Stephanie does a fabulous job describing their special day below so keep reading...
From the stunning bride...
….”The best day of your life.” How do you pick the “perfect” venue, guest list, setting, photographer, food, drinks, etc? You go to San Ysidro Ranch. It is one of the most beautiful places. The hospitality, the food, the cottages and the setting are beyond words. What more could a bride & groom ask for?
We wanted a romantic, elegant, intimate beautiful day. We chose navy blue and grey/silver as our colors with soft white/blush flowers. To add a little bit of “bling,” I had some fun sparkle buttons added to my dress and sparkles in my bouquet. It was perfect.
Every guest at our wedding said it was the best wedding that they had ever been to. Guests pulled up to a valet area where they walked through beautiful green arches. They walked through the main reception area out onto a gorgeous covered patio/grass area where there was lemonade, iced tea, and water. They could sit and take in the amazing views of the gardens and mountains or mingle and take fun pictures. After the welcome reception, they walked down to the grass area where the ceremony took place. There were two arches filled with lush greens and gorgeous flowers. The ceremony garden setting was just what we wanted.
After the ceremony guests were lead to the hydrangea cottage through the Old Adobe (an amazing private room where my husband proposed to be with a private candlelit dinner in front of the stone fireplace) and enjoyed a wonderful cocktail hour on the patio area of the cottage while we took pictures.
We met online…yes folks we are one of those lucky couples who found each other through a mass of online profiles. Our journey began having cocktails on the cliffs in Palos Verdes, was made forever at San Ysidro Ranch and continues to be full of fun and adventure through travel, family celebrations, outings with friends and special nights at home, just the two of us.
