Yes to the Band, No to the Lighting
Mike and the Bachelor Boys Band provided the ceremony sound support, cocktail duo music, reception band performance and up lighting for our wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art. We were incredibly impressed with the band's musical performances and ceremony sound support. Our most frequent guest compliment is how awesome the band was. We had a 6-piece band for our 100-guest creative black tie wedding. They were able to read the room for song choices and played plenty of songs from our recommended list that were a hit! Communication was not at the same level as most of our other vendors. We only had one 20 minute phone conversation less than two weeks before our wedding. Where we had a huge issue was the up lighting of our reception space. We had discussed a white or warm amber color and when we joined our reception the lighting was blue (also not a color in our wedding color palette). We asked them to change it to the warm amber and it was briefly changed to lime green until it was correctly changed after asking again. This was fine until we started seeing photos from guests, vendors and our professional photographer with this blue lighting. We emailed Mike asking about why the blue lighting occurred and if they can provide any compensation (to at least help cover extra photo editing). Mike's emailed response said "there was time [during cocktail hour] to switch beforehand if you were unhappy" and "There's no discrepancy that the lighting looks blue in these pictures, but the lighting used was a white. You would have noticed a blue during the room reveal so maybe it's something w/ the reflection off the stone or something with your friend's cell phone." They did end up refunding us the full cost of the lighting. We felt this response to be very unprofessional, lacking accountability and victim blaming. TL;DR: recommend for band purposes only, don't use for lighting
Biggest Fan!
The Bachelor Boys Band is unbelievably talented and to have them play at our wedding was an honor. They matched our reception hype and then pushed it even further! Leading up to the wedding, it was wonderful to work with Amber. She is lovely and helped us answer all of our questions. Katie was the lead singer and to say she killed it would be an understatement. I wish I knew the other 7 musicians' names because I would love to give them each a shoutout. They looked incredible for our formal-attire wedding. They were so kind and fun. And did I say talented because... wow! Anyone who is looking to book a band for an event, please look no further!
Amazing amazing band
We booked them for our wedding Feb 17 and were blown away. They did such a fantastic job running through a bunch of classics, newer songs, and they even obliged to back up the bride's uncle as he played the Chicken Dance on accordion. These guys are amazing professional musicians.
Great band, great management, great price!
The band manager, Roxanne is a SUPERSTAR! She makes the process of booking and executing SO easy. She is quick to respond, thoughtful and very helpful. The band took our song requests and even used a playlist I made for when they took breaks (I used this time to play Hispanic and Arabic songs). The band was lively all night long- the only thing I wish they would have done is interact with the crowd more. Other than that, we were so happy with their performance!
