John Ross Music and Production got its start in 2004. The simple idea of live music and DJ service from one vendor caught on across the region and in 2010 the company began adding more musician/DJs to its roster. Oregon Bride Magazine first recognized the musician/DJs at John Ross Music and Production as the “Best Ceremony Musicians” in the state in 2013. The company won that same award again in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019, also adding the “Best Reception Band” honor to its list of achievements. As of 2020 the company employs 10 different musician/DJs as well as a full time office manager to serve its clients.

I love my job. For me, it’s kind of two-fold. One amazing part of the job is knowing that you are part of a couple’s most memorable day of their life—and assuming it goes well, they will remember you for it for the rest of their life. Our wedding couples typically spend between $800 and $1600 for a typical wedding with music services from Guest arrival through to the last dance and grand exit of the reception. Hands On Music, LLC was officially started in Oregon in February of 2016. Since our first wedding on February 14th, we have done about weddings in Oregon and a couple in Washington. We also provide DJ service for school dances, small parties, and other types of events.

Melvins DJ Service is owned by Melvin and his wife, Sarah. Together for the past almost 10 years, they have built their business from the ground up, while raising their 3 kids. They have recently expanded into a photobooth business (The Couve Booth) primarily operated by Sarah, although offering packages that include both services. Operating out of SW Washington, DJ Melvin serves a broad range of clients and styles in a broad range of areas across Portland and Vancouver area. We do not contract out our DJ services.
