Liliharp Flowers

5.0

Charlottesville, VA
  • Starts at $1,000

Liliharp Flowers is a floral design studio located on a micro flower farm in Charlottesville, Virginia. The offerings are seasonal, sustainable, and inspired by the flower fields. Our foam free designs mimic the way flowers appear in nature: free flowing, whimsical, and unique. For those looking for florals to elevate smaller weddings, elopements, dinner parties, and showers, our a la carte offerings found within our online shop is an easy way to choose pieces that will best suit your needs. The studio also accepts commissions for a limited number of custom wedding designs each year, starting at an investment of $6000.

I am so happy to have (and never once doubted the decision) trusting in Lindsey!! I was lucky enough to have found Liliharp via CakeBloom's Elopement package, which includes a few key floral pieces that I added onto (and continued to add to leading up to the wedding; the latest being the week before). I had zero ideas/opinions and she did all the thinking and hard work for me. When we spoke on the phone, I just told her the general palette I had in mind and. She considers the venue, season, and overall atmosphere and... the results were better than I'd imagined! Every bride should be so lucky to have Lindsey on their team for their most important and special day!!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

5.0

Oklahoma City, OK
  • Serves Barboursville, VA

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

I used Flower Moxie for our wedding florals and cannot recommend them enough. I started the process with them in August 2022 for our December 2022 wedding. There was a consultation with a florist, Cristen, who looked at my Pinterest and asked me a lot of questions to help understand my vision, budget, and what specific elements of my inspo photos I liked. She walked me through the flowers on the website that we’d use or rule out. A couple weeks later, she sent me a full “recipe” of all the flowers with a vision board image, as well as affordable suggestions of where to get supplies and what I would need. They definitely don’t push using their supplies exclusively. I decided to make some changes, specifically adding lighter colored roses, and she made some gorgeous suggestions that I was so thrilled with. I placed my order at the end of September. The Thursday before my Sunday wedding, we picked up the flowers from the airport and prep them, which was actually staggeringly easy. On Saturday, all my bridesmaids came over for a “build your own bouquet” party, which turned out to be ridiculously fun and not difficult at all! The videos and tips on the Flower Moxie website make it foolproof, especially since I liked a wilder look. We stuck everything in vases and trimmed and wrapped them on the day of the wedding. It was so, so easy and fun! The quality and customer service were 10/10, too. I had some proteas damaged in transit, and they gave me tips on how to remove leaves to fix the look. Otherwise, the flowers were perfect, super high quality, and looked GORGEOUS. I literally just got rid of the last of them, that’s how hard and long-lasting they were. The price was super reasonable for the quantity/quality received.

Working with Jen on our florals was the best decision we could have made! Our flowers were ready a month before our wedding taking away a huge stressor for our big day. Her ordering process was easy to use and as time went on whatever changes we needed Jen took care of right away and gave us insight to what would look best. Everything was extremely affordable and being able to personalize your florals is so important and made them all the more special. Our guests and wedding party complimented our centerpieces, arrangements, and bridal party florals all night. Another special aspect is the longevity of our florals. We have both my bouqet and my husbands boutonniere on display in our home and they will last a lifetime for us to look at and remember our wedding. I will forever be thankful for Wood & Word Blooms for making our wedding all the more beautiful.

Mary truly brought our wedding's colors and spirit to fruition. From the very beginning, she asked all the right questions, offered advice from everything on what lasts the longest to what shows up best in photos. She made us a mood board, kept us within our budget, and then wove it into a reality that was absolutely magical. She also offered suggestions for things we hadn't thought to do (like provide mussy-tussies for the mothers, and a boutonniere for the ring bearer). Seriously, she was the easiest to communicate with of everyone we worked with, we had everything we needed before we thought to ask for it, and she always made us feel like we were the most important thing. So many people told me how beautiful the flowers were, and they were just as elegant in our photos as I remember them being on our wedding day. (I really wish there was an option to show them to you here! They were both vibrant red and soft, with a perfect vintage Hollywood meets gothic vibe--which is exactly what we asked her to do! I really don't know how she made what was in my head appear like that.) I'd recommend working with Davidson Designs to anyone who is even considering it. If you book her, you'll never have to worry about a single thing, she's so professional, and you'll be so, so happy with her installations and arrangements. Do it!

I just wanted to reach out finally after our wedding and let you know how in love I was with all our floral decisions! The process was easy, seamless and, with a little help from my friends, a memory maker. I was totally oooo-ing and ahhhhhh-ing opening all the flower boxes after i picked them up! Each box was another wonderful surprise and i was floored with the quality! AND, best part, they lasted for days and being transported in the back of a work van to the Cape for our festivities. I have been highly recommending your business to everyone that asks. I’ve included some of the professional photos in case you wanted to use them on your site, due to file size, I’ll send a second email with additional photos. Again, I’m in love with bloom culture and cannot thank you enough for customized boho beauty your flowers added to our wedding!

Brin's Posy

5.0

Staunton, VA
  • Starts at $1,000
  • Serves Barboursville, VA

Brin’s Posy is named after my beloved dog. She passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, leaving myself and her pup sister (Abby) to figure out life without her. We were months of grieving her loss when a close friend insisted I channel the grief energy into something positive. A bell went off in my head as my current job as a florist in a far away town was coming to an end. Brin’s Posy helped me come to terms with the loss. I still have Abby (the shop girl) in the shop daily and occasionally out to our farm venues! We love to source local and work with community members.

Cailyn, the owner, was a blast to work with. She is friendly, vivacious, and incredibly knowledgeable. We had a native plant themed bouquet, which was beautiful. She was prompt, adaptable, and funny. Great taste in music. (Classic rock, Shagwüf).

Lindsay is absolutely AMAZING!!! She's an old family friend and we were lucky enough to have her as our florist for our May wedding at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville. We envisioned pale pink and ivory spring blooms to match the undertones in the theater and make our wedding feel like a classic garden soiree. We shared a few Pinterest ideas, chatted back and forth through email, and we were completely blown away with how PERFECT the floral arrangements were (I cried when I saw them!). They were exactly what we had envisioned and even more beautiful. Lindsay is so sweet and such a pleasure to work with. We are so grateful for her contributions in bringing our wedding to life -- I cannot recommend her enough :)
