As a hopeless romantic with a fondness for all things vintage, I specialize in capturing timeless photos of the details and moments celebrating the love of your day. Utilizing natural light as much as possible as to not create an artificial mood, I consider my style to be photojournalistic, with a relaxed, natural feeling, even during formal portraits. Overly staged portraits and calculated setups aren't really my jam. After the party's over, my work continues, using post-processing software like Lightroom and Photoshop, ensuring you and your photos look their best and unique!

Creating visual imagery and preserving moments in beautiful ways are some of my favorite things to do. You can never replay a moment but you can photograph it to treasure forever. I have been a photographer since my freshman year of high school when I was given the opportunity to photograph the football team as well as to help with photos for the yearbook. I moved from Delaware to South Carolina in 2009, where I fell in love with the Lowcountry. I specialize in weddings, but I absolutely love capturing an engagement or family session as well! I like to approach any and all sessions with a photojournalistic eye. My goal is always to capture true and authentic moments between couples, families, and friends while providing my clients with gorgeous memories.

I got my first Kodak 110 camera in second grade and the rest is history. Yes, that dates me, but I have been in love with the photograph ever since. I love candids. Natural smiles, people having fun...raw emotion. I blend in. When you forget that I am your photographer and you let your walls down...the images I capture, to me, are magic. I am a wedding and portrait photographer in South Carolina (with a lot of work in Pennsylvania, where our family is from). I was born in Savannah, Georgia, so my heart has always belonged to the south! I am married with two children, and my family is the light of my life. My children are why I chose to dive into the professional photography world, but weddings are why I stay. I love to read, edit my photos, play with my kids, crochet blankets, make people laugh, listen to Morbid podcast, and take naps.

Charles Merry is a photographer who has been capturing moments in the Ladson and Charleston, SC areas, whose passion is to create beautiful moments for people on their most special of days. He started out on the Charleston night life scene, but soon fell in love with being able to capture moments from a bride’s big day that she or anyone else may not have seen or remembered. His goal is to provide individualized attention to each and every couple or family, and provide the highest level of customer care. His photographs are creatively bold and unique, and captivate the personalities of the couples in his photos.

Taking pictures has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. People ask me all the time, what I do for a living? I respond I own King Street Photo Weddings. I am very blessed and honored to be an image-maker. My amazing team & I capture joyful, emotional, people at weddings.

Our journey into photography started in 2015 at the same time we first met: during training to become photojournalists for the U.S. Air Force. In 2017 we shot our very first wedding, and completely fell in love. From there, our passion for photography and working with couples only grew, and we finally decided to begin our business. Lauren loves iced coffee and being outdoors. While we call Charleston home, her heart belongs to the mountains (camping trip for your engagement session?!). Justin loves his Harley and cruising with the windows down. Most days, you can find him in the kitchen making homemade (delicious) bread, pasta or tortillas.
