I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. I am a Huntsville, Alabama native, but moved to Nashville after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2013. ROLL TIDE! Although I consider Nashville home, I am anything but a homebody. I started my photography journey taking photos of my wife. Watching her come to life with confidence was the greatest feeling in the world. And when she used that confidence to overcome her negative self-image, I knew I was onto something. I initially set out to ensure everyone I worked with knew what this felt like. After shooting with models and brands for a few years, I was asked to photograph my first wedding and the experience was unreal. Hi friend, I'm Katelyn! Thinking back, I really have always loved documenting my life through photos, even if I didn't realize that was what I was doing. It all started with me begging my parents to take me to CVS to grab a Kodak disposable camera, using all the film to take photos of anything I could, getting it developed and creating my own personal photo albums that I still have packed away at my parents home. In 2011, my mom purchased the coolest Nikon D5000 DSLR camera (which I eventually took over, sorry mom!!!) and I never looked back.
