Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, our meeting house was constructed in 1930 during the administration of the Quaker president, Herbert Hoover. It was built to serve as a house of worship and a gathering place for those wanting to “seek peace and pursue it.” The building was enlarged in 1950. In 1970, we acquired the red brick Quaker House, Carriage House and garden at 2121 Decatur Place NW. Built in the 1920s and also on the National Register, these buildings today house a number of nonprofit organizations and small businesses as well as additional event spaces. With multiple interior spaces and gardens, we can accommodate events of various sizes and layouts, from 2 to 300. We host individuals, non-profit organizations, and for-profit entities. Our event rental prices are affordable, with discounts offered to non-profit organizations in alignment with our values. Plan the perfect country wedding at Fairwinds Farm in an intimate, shaded outdoor setting! Pass through the arbor where we will pick up the bride in her choice of three wedding carriages and transport her to the wedding site. After the ceremony, bride and groom are seated in the carriage where guests greet them on their way to the reception area. Our outdoor ceremony site overlooks a horse pasture under the trees where your guests are seated comfortably. Rain? No problem! Our reception tent has a carpeted area for indoor ceremony in case of inclement weather. After the ceremony, we will take you by carriage to the beautifully lit reception site. Our carpeted tent includes a dance floor, bar, housing for kegs, and seating for guests including round tables, white folding chairs, and a “sweetheart table."

Historic Waverly Mansion is located in Marriottsville, Maryland. This 1760's era estate is a the perfect setting of an intimate garden wedding and reception! The Mansion and property is owned and operated by Howard County Government's Recreation and Parks Department and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Historic Waverly Mansion is considered an outdoor venue. The property includes beautifully maintained gardens, the historic Mansion, and rustic barn. During our peak rental season, a 60x40ft event tent is included in wedding rentals. Historic Waverly provides the location and property amenities while the Permit Holder provides all vendors, including an approved full-service Caterer and Wedding Coordinator. Historic Waverly Mansion is a Howard County Park. Howard County Recreation and Park guidelines apply to all scheduled events and are different from privately owned venues. From the wide wraparound Terrace, you and your guests will enjoy panoramic views of historic Old Town, the Potomac River, and the sights of DC in the distance. The Terrace features a patio covered by a pergola, which can accommodate an intimate seated ceremony or reception. Moving indoors to the Parlor you’ll find sleek marble floors, modern gold finishes, and plush contemporary furniture, perfect for cocktail hour. The Parlor features high ceilings, an outfitted bar, a catering kitchen, elevators, and floor-to-ceiling windows with two access points to the Terrace. Just off the Parlor is the George Washington room, which has a full wall of windows that opens onto the patio, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor feel. This room can be used for a seated indoor ceremony, reception, and/or dancing, and is outfitted with state-of-the-art AV equipment.
