The main hall is a 10,000 sq. ft. area, giving the ability to divide into ceremony and reception. ​The barn has been built from the ground up by Craig Carpenter, his brother Timmy Carpenter and other family and friends. Many of the trees use to build the barn were harvested from their property and were prepared at their saw mill on site. The idea for a wedding venue began was a dream of their daughter, now Zimmerwald's Estate manager Katie Carpenter White. What began as a simple dream and a sketch on a piece of notebook paper, has now become a reality. We are extremely excited to be a place where beautiful family memories can be made and couples can begin their happily ever after!

Ruth's Garden is the newest venue in historic downtown Gastonia. The Garden is a secluded and serene space, perfect for your next event. The venue has the capacity for a maximum of 60 people. It is a true arts destination for York county as it is home to offices of the Arts Council of York County, the Rock Hill Pottery Center, Art on Main, Concerts at the Courtroom, Hill City Church, and artist studios. Concerts are often held in the renovated historic courtroom on the second floor at the Gettys. It’s the perfect place to host receptions or other special occasions
