Topu Lyo and Randy Bergida began performing together in 1999 when their friends and siblings started getting married. Based in Staten Island, New York, Cause and The Effects is an enthusiastic band comprised of young musical professionals ready to perform at your wedding. The band was founded in 2011 but the versatile members have been playing together and separately for more than two decades. You can choose between a seven-, eight-, or 10-piece band to perform at your reception, while smaller groups can perform during the ceremony and cocktail hour. The Chicken Slacks are "Boston's Hardest Working Classic Soul, Funk, and R&B Band"! We consist of 7-members and when we play weddings or other events we include a sound engineer with some stage lighting. We also provide other services for an extra fee. We held down a 15-year residency at The Word Famous Cantab Lounge in Central Square, Cambridge, MA before the 2020 pandemic. Not only am I the band's client relations manager, I also play saxophone and am the band's emcee. These are my ALL-TIME favorite genres to perform and The Chicken Slacks have mastered the art of re-invigorating these special genres.
