“I cannot recommend Sophie enough for wedding make up. My wife and I used Sophie as our makeup artist for ourselves, our two moms, and my sister-in-law. Getting your make up done is an intimate process and sets the tone for the entire day and with Sophie there I felt beautiful and comfortable the whole time. We were not able to do a make up trial due to my schedule so she worked with me prior to my wedding day via zoom to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. She sent me examples and helped me articulate my vision and even tried the looks on herself so that I could see them come to life. On the day of I felt so glam and powerful. My look lasted through performances and lots of dancing and my pictures from the end of the night are still STUNNING with no touch ups required (though she did provide us with the cutest touch up kits) My wife’s style and comfort with make up is much different than mine so she did a make up trial and Sophie helped her to find a look that was “wedding glam” but still felt authentic. Our looks were very different and incredibly “us” and showed off Sophie’s range and talent. Logistically, she is a complete professional with high end products that she organizes for ease of use and hygiene. Though my make up ran much longer than intended, she had anticipated that and so we still finished exactly on time. I never felt rushed or stressed - only like an absolute queen. It was the perfect way to start my wedding day and was worth every single penny.”

“I highly recommend Kelechi, the owner of Klynnebeauty, for your bridal hair and makeup, and for any of your other day-of beauty needs!! I reached out to Kelechi through Zola earlier this summer, and she responded in less than a day to confirm that she was available for my wedding on 8/12/23. On our consultation call, I explained that I had just finished my second year of law school (which is part of the reason why I was so delayed in booking bridal beauty), and that I was different than some brides when it comes to my preferences on getting ready (I don’t love being the center of attention, so having a literal spotlight on my face as I sit in the middle of a room full of people watching me get ready is a stress-inducing situation for me). We also discussed logistics, pricing, and travel fees, and then Kelechi followed up the next morning with a draft contract and inspiration pictures. My wedding was in Philadelphia and Kelechi is based out of NJ, and there was a minimum spend for beauty services and a travel fee because of the distance she had to drive to get to Philadelphia, but I thought her pricing was very reasonable, and I booked her for bridal hair and makeup, and for hair styling for my bridesmaids/Mom. Even with the travel fee, the total contract price was comparable to what I would have paid for similar services from a Philadelphia-based stylist. On the wedding day, Kelechi brought one of her friends, Awuruma, as her styling assistant, which I really appreciated because Awuruma is a lawyer! When it was my turn to get ready, Kelechi moved all of her stuff into the bathroom attached to the bedroom in the getting-ready room, and she did my hair and makeup in there. She closed the door and reassured me that it was okay that I wanted to get ready in a room by myself with just the two of them (Kelechi and Awuruma) because it was my day and I should do what makes me feel most comfortable. During the time Kelechi was styling my hair and doing my makeup, we talked about all the chaos of planning a wedding in law school, why I went to law school, and then we talked about the wedding, like what my vision was and how I was still editing my vows while I was getting ready (whoops!). We also talked about how I met my fiancé (now husband), and I put on a Spotify playlist of songs I asked the band to play at the wedding. I absolutely love how my hair and makeup turned out, I love how all the bridesmaids and my moms hair turned out, and I love that Kelechi was ahead of the getting-ready schedule all day! I received so many compliments throughout the day, and after spending the second half of the reception dancing (and profusely sweating from dancing), I think my hair and makeup still looked amazing! Most important though (in my opinion), is that my experience with Kelechi helped ground me before the first-look and the wedding. Talking with Kelechi about how I met my now-husband and about the successes and struggles we’ve been through helped get me to a blissed-out state of mind, and I felt so present throughout the rest of the day after sharing those stories and reliving our journey to the aisle. I will be forever grateful to Kelechi and she was such an important part of my wedding day. I honestly felt like I was glowing because of the self-confidence, acceptance, and love that I felt throughout the day, and that is a glow that can’t be applied with makeup!
