Sophia is the creative force behind Botanical Preserves. Raised in an artistic household, she’s worked with multiple mediums over the years, with five years of experience in floral design. Having a fascination with the realm of plants and their healing powers, Sophia surrounds herself with botanicals and their many elements. The concept of floral design as a living, restorative, art form gave her a deep respect for flowers and their unique personality. Their nature of fragility adds to their elusiveness, and gives her the opportunity to exhibit the never-to-be-replicated side of her personality every time she works with floral product.

I'm a proud first-gen., Latina & Dallas native who finds joy in every facet of flowers. Growing up, my dad filled my childhood with gardening & my love for flowers sprouted there. In high school, I enrolled in Skyline's High School's floral design program in which my classmates & I learned floral designs basics + the business side of the flower industry. There, I would frequently compete against other high schools & received my Level 1 & 2 certifications by the TSFA. I founded La Fuente de Flores in 2019 & have rebranded as Monarch & Marigold Studio. I'm also a hobby flower grower so quite literally, I'm always surrounded by flowers.

Having spent the majority of my childhood barefoot in the avocado orchards of Southern California, I was born with a deep connection to the outdoors. I use my passion for floral design to bridge the gap between our busy modern-day society to the wondrous natural world that we are all living in. I am inspired by the deep connections between all organisms. I focus on sourcing all flowers locally and within their intended grow season, honoring the systems of our Mother Earth.
