Our cakes come tall and our specialty is buttercream; we do not use fondant. Delish Cakes started in 2010 out of Alicia's family home. It quickly outgrew the house and a storefront was born shortly after! Delish Cakes will be 11 years old in August of 2021. Delish Cakes creates custom cakes and sweets for any occasion, and we love to make each order just as special as the clients who order them! When I started caking a year and a half ago, I couldn't in my wildest dreams imagine it would take off the way it did. Every cake has a story, and every cake no matter how simple or elaborate teaches me a lesson for the next order. I am self-taught, and although that means my resources were (mostly) women who have mastered this craft and were generous enough to share their talent on the internet, the rest of the work - the trial and error - falls on me. I was born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and a recent grad of the University of Iowa. My love for all things food doesn’t have a starting point, it has always been part of my life. I started The Bun Bar in hopes of sharing my love of baking with others. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing happy customers and bringing people together to enjoy a sweet treat!
