Welcome to Kendra's Country Bakery where every cake is customized to suit your needs! My initial inspiration comes from my grandparents. Although I was young when they passed, I can still remember my grandfather's signature red buttercream rose hidden on every cake. In the beginning, while raising my family with my husband, I was so excited to get into the baking world and learn what it had to offer. I had been baking for years so I decided to do what I love and share it with others!

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska surrounded by weddings and events. My family owns an event venue there still. I took a detour and played professional golf for a number of years before A. Cakes was born in 2021. It was only fitting that I come full circle and work back in the wedding industry where my heart truly lies. I am in love with the process of learning, practicing and executing new and fun techniques on my clients’ cakes. More than that, creating a cake for someone’s special day gives me the most warm feeling. It’s truly why I do what I do.

I am actually a professional Wedding Photographer (On The Rocks Photography) and the "sister name" of my cookie business is Sweet Frickin' Treats... If you haven't already discovered, my name is Stacy Frick. (all of my friends affectionately call me "Frick") This whole cookie-thing started out of boredom. Wondering what I could do that excites my creative mind without being mundane and repetitive. I'm well aware that I am "late to the party" and should have started baking custom cookies about 4 years ago when they were really popular, but I feel like, who doesn't love cookies, right? I don't think they'll ever go out of style!

I was born and raised in a small town in the Philippines. I lived in California for 14 years and before moving to Arizona, I met my husband and my children (our lovely dogs). I started baking as far back as a little girl, with a simple interest in creating tasty treats for my family and I. Then I moved on to baking from scratch and began to appreciate the joy in producing and assembling each piece of the puzzle. Baking from scratch allows you to select not only the highest quality ingredients but it also creates a deeper connection between the baker and the food. As often happens, interest turned into a hobby, hobby turned into an obsession.

My love for baking all started when I was around 8 years old. I would always ask my grandma to help her bake and idolized the work she did. I have always been a very artsy person, and once I found out that you can express your art onto an edible canvas I was sold!
