“We're writing this 4 days after our wedding, finally recovered from the absolute banger of a wedding that Alex DJ'ed. Our bodies are still sore from dancing all night and not sitting down. No one warned us how physically demanding it was to dance an entire night non-stop. We first met Alex when he was DJing our friends’, Addie & Loui’s, wedding in 2022. We were so impressed by how much thought and creativity went into his mixes and his ability to adapt the music based on the crowd's energy that night. The wedding planning process went very smoothly! During our calls, you could really tell how passionate Alex is about what he does. When we mentioned our favorite songs, he was so enthusiastic and immediately started working on mixes during the call. We loved the app he provided (Vibo), which allowed us to add songs and answer timeline questions for every aspect of our special day. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly and with no technical difficulties. He had enough equipment and staffing to handle the outdoor courtyard ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (which all happened on separate floors). He played every song we asked for and was even able to fulfill a last minute request to surprise the bride with a flash mob that the groom organized. Our guests loved the PhotoBooth, which printed duplicates for our guest book. The booth attendants were very helpful providing instructions to fill out the guestbook. Alex is an incredibly talented artist, and you could tell that every detail of our dance party was expertly curated to make sure no one wanted to leave the dance floor. He poured his heart and soul into DJing that night, and every guest made sure to tell us how our night felt less like a reception and more like a set at a music festival. He seamlessly segued between genres and made sure he was able to fit in as much of our requests as possible. “We liked Edward Zaruba a lot initially because when we talked, he was concise and seemed fun as opposed to some of the other DJs we spoke to. Picking a DJ was hard because unlike a photographer where you can look through their work, you generally go off of price and vibes because you can’t sit through an entire set as your wedding set list is based off yourself. Edward didn’t talk too much and to be transparent, we didn’t want a DJ that would talk more than they played music, so that paired with his price point made him a good fit for us. We had a good experience with him on our wedding day. His system for the outside was simple but worked the way we needed it to. He hid everything behind some of the greenery so that none of the guests could see it and it would not be in view for the pictures. Even though the weather was windy that day, the microphones picked up well on the all of the sound. He set the groom and officiant up with wireless microphones that were nicely hidden. His speaker was loud and clear for everyone to hear. His system for the inside was also great for the space and the included dance lighting added a nice vibe for the night and turned out nice in our photos. Our only (half) complaint was we gave him a must, MUST playlist (about 6 songs), and only a few of them played. We think this can be attributed more so to lack of time to play all the songs we love and of course know even if we could have spent an additional hour dancing, there probably would have been songs we missed. Outside of that, he picked phenomenal music, and he knew how to transition from one song to the next to keep everyone on the dance floor and having fun. We appreciated his ability to introduce our party and us. He spoke the perfect amount and did great with the nights transitions.”

He even set up a phone call a couple days before the wedding just to make sure my husband and I were good to go, which I felt was above and beyond.
