Tay Sikes Photo

Freeport, ME
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $3,000

Maine Wedding + Lifestyle Photographer serving couples + families with an experience that makes them leave feeling embraced with love. Providing both Photo + Video to New England + Abroad. At Tay Sikes Photo, we make you feel extra loved by those around you, and extra gorgeous in every photo we capture.

I can’t say enough good things about Taylor! Not only is she my wonderful friend, but I have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of her talent, as she’s taken beautiful and I mean BEAUTIFUL photos of me throughout my entire pregnancy. As a photographer myself this is no easy task, but Taylor has a gift for setting people at ease, making them feel beautiful and creating truly unique shots. Not only have I been the subject of her work, but I’ve also been able to work with her on weddings and I can truly say there is no one I would rather work with. Taylor is so good at catching those beautiful moments as they unfold (the first kiss, the first look) but also the inbetween moments (aunt Mary hugging your cousin at cocktail hour and your little niece break dancing on the dance floor). Her editing is timeless and who she is as a person just makes you want to go back for every important life event. I highly recommend Taylor for all your life moments!

South Portland, ME

  • Starts at $3,800

I’m a storyteller. That’s what I’m here to do - document the story of one of your greatest celebrations. My work is heavily focused on the authentic, unplanned moments. My approach is observational and real, creating images that are genuine representations of you, those you love, and the space and moments you share. I create true-to-life images that will bring you back to some of your sweetest, most treasured moments for years to come. These images aren't just for you, after all - they're for the branches of your family tree that have yet to grow. For the generations to come.

Kaitlin is amazing to work with! She is thorough, professional, and fun. She had so many great ideas for photos and was able to keep our chatty wedding party on track. We were not super fond of traditionally posed wedding portraits, but Kaitlin made them modern, easy, and fun while also taking fantastic candids.

Revolution Summer Photography

Troy, ME
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,200

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. You may even outwardly acknowledge it. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation.

Awarded Best of Zola
Revolution Summer (Corey) did a phenomenal job for our small, rural Maine wedding. They set a high bar among the rest of our vendors in terms of communication, outreach, professionalism and care to their craft. Whether it was multiple video chats leading up to the day, going over the timeline and providing input as needed, or taking liberty with the day as things need changing or adjustments, Corey was steadfast in doing the best job for us. Our guests have loved the photos from our gallery, and we were able to keep ones we wanted just for us to be only ours on their portal once it was published. We also personally felt at ease with Corey in terms of personality, interests and general demeanor, which was important to us as our wedding was small and believed the vibe our vendors gave off was as important as the guests we invited. Overall, we would highly recommend Corey if you are looking for professional photos from a more journalistic lens, with fewer staged shots and more candid pictures that tell the story of your day authentically.

Hi ya’ll! I’m Nat. I’m a southerner who’s recently moved to New England. I am thrilled to be a photographer and part of making memories with you! There is something truly special about being the person who creates lasting stories to share. My love for photography began when my great grandmother gave me her point and shoot camera, and since then, I have been hooked. Some of my favorite things include espresso tonics, thunderstorms, and bookstores. As a photographer, I live for the fleeting moments of light and stories. I do my best to capture those moments with my cameras, and I find great joy in doing so.

Awarded Best of Zola
Natalie worked with us this past weekend as a 2nd photographer for a large, backyard wedding. She did great capturing all the moments with the guests and details. She had some beautiful classic couples portraits as well! I will absolutely have her on our team again.

Bethany and Dan Photography

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,400

Our first kiss was on the beach, under a star-filled sky, on my favorite island, only home to shells, bioluminescent creatures, and wild horses. Soon after, as two very young humans (21 and 23), we were married. As newlyweds we set off on an adventure, kayaking from Maine to Key West. On that trip, we realized how much we valued spending all our time together and being in charge of our schedule. This business is how we live out that dream.

Bethany and Dan were absolutely amazing from Day 1 and are just downright great people. My wife and I are not what you would call "photo folks", but B & D went above and beyond to answer our questions, make us comfortable, and produced an unbelievable end result of our big day. We have nothing but appreciation for them as people and their art. Highly recommended!

Michelle K. Martin Photography

Portland, ME
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $4,250

I’m Michelle, a Portland, Maine based wedding and couples photographer. I grew up in a small town in Connecticut, spent my college years and 20s in Boston, moved to New York City with my husband and now have found my way back to New England. I worked for eight years in event planning before going full-time with my photography business. I’m grateful for those eight years because they taught me so much that I’ve carried into managing my own small business. Beyond photography, I am an avid reader, love long bike rides, prefer the Monday crosswords, enjoy woodsy day hikes, and am always finding the nearest bookstore when we travel.

Awarded Best of Zola
Michelle was so sweet and easy to work with. We instantly felt comfortable in front of her camera, for our 30 minute couples session. We love our finished gallery so much, and would definitely work with Michelle again!

Jenna Cavanaugh Photography

Portland, ME
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $3,800

Natural, documentary, photojournalistic. Real, raw, candid. We’re not going for any stiff prom poses here. I like to capture the day as it is and to document it as it unfolds. I never want to force anything, but I step in and direct where needed. Being in front of the camera isn’t my favorite thing either. I will be here to guide you and prompt you the whole way, I promise.

Jenna is everything you could want and more in a wedding photographer! She made us feel so comfortable with her calming presence and reassurance that you will feel a little awkward - and that's totally ok! You'll never notice in the photos because Jenna will make sure every pose and placement looks natural... plus her editing style and aesthetic is next level. We couldn't be happier with our entire gallery. She somehow was able to capture every magical moment that we will cherish forever her candids are the best!) . We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jenna to anyone!!

I believe pictures shouldn’t be painful. I want you to feel special, happy, gorgeous, and well-cared-for throughout your photography adventure, but most of all I want you to have fun. A relaxed couple makes an even more beautiful couple on that most important of days, and I will go above and beyond for my couples to ensure that is exactly what happens. I’m not just a photographer on your wedding day: I’m a friend.

Dory Diaz is a pleasure to work with and is a great talent. We recommend her highly to our wedding couples and are always excited when she is photographing weddings at our property. Strongly recommend!

Katie Arnold Photography

Portland, ME

One of my favorite parts about this job is watching confidence grow right before the lens. When couples go from, “we’re going to be hard to photograph, we’re so awkward.” to “ no way! That’s us?” my heart could explode every time! Because what is on my camera is exactly what I see in you. It isn’t “you’re so talented!” or “that’s an amazing camera!” no, no. It’s simply you with the one you feel most comfortable with and who fills your heart and soul as no one or thing can. That my friend is genuine love in its most simplistic and powerful form. And it’s what I capture best. :)

After doing much research, I was blessed to stumble across Katie on Instagram. I immediately fell in love with her work; her photos are rarely staged, all authentic, “in the moment” candid shots. On top of her amazing work she is the most kind hearted, down the earth person. Going to our engagement session, we didn’t know what to expect. We immediately felt comfortable with Katie and never felt awkward. We had to postpone due to COVID and Katie was so easy and accommodating! Our wedding photos are absolutely stunning, there truly isn’t a bad shot! I recommend Katie to every one and will continue to go to her in the future for any of my photography needs :)

The Leighton Co

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Photojournalistic style

The Leighton Co. is a husband and wife photography and filmmaking team documenting stories of love and life through intentional, modern, and genuine imagery. We believe that when the day isn't solely focused around the photos and video, then THAT is when you get the best footage.

I highly recommend Becca and Scott. I sent in an inquiry form, and soon after Becca scheduled a call for us to discuss what we envisioned for our wedding day and to tell us about their different packages. We were not certain that we wanted a videographer, but Becca and Scott helped to guide us to make the best choice for us. Leading up to our wedding day, Becca was great about communicating with us. And best of all she created a day of timeline for us! I was so stressed about the timing of the day, but once I saw her suggested timeline, I knew it would work out great. On the day of our wedding, both Becca and Scott were awesome. They were supportive and kind, making sure that we were comfortable and able to be where we wanted to. We never felt awkward or like we were “forcing it” for the cameras. Post wedding, Becca and Scott were again great about communicating with us about when they would deliver our finalized photos and video. Both our engagement and wedding photos/ videos are beautiful. The Leighton Co has a timeless style that we love, and they do a great job of capturing you and your day as it is. It is very obvious how much hard work they put in, and how dedicated they are to the couples they work with. I know that we will look back at our pictures and videos for many years and instantly remember how loved we felt that day.
