After the Great Depression, it started to get a lot of traction from local residents and quickly became known as “Carolina’s Finest.” It was purchased in 1997 and the extensive renovation process began, transforming it to the same flamboyant hotel that hosted guests such as Amelia Earhart and Bobby Kennedy. We have a beautiful outdoor area to get married surrounded by trees of all kinds and a large heated and cooled barn (4500 sq ft) for an indoor reception. We can also host the wedding indoors if the couple prefers. Enchanted Acres also has two 600 sq ft cabins to get ready in, one for the bride, and one for the groom. We are located on almost 20 acres of seclusion but yet close to town for guests to stay or a VRBO at the lake.

The Coyote Lodge is a 4,000 cabin with a huge great room with soaring 2 story stone wood-burning fireplace. This space is great for a small ceremony up to 40 guests. The Coyote Lodge has 4 master suites with private bathrooms, and can sleep up to 18 people. Cabin accommodations include 11 cabins, ranging from studio units to 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom cabins. The Inn, originally named Engadine by its builder, Civil War Captain John Keais Hoyt, is an 1885 Queen Anne-style Victorian home. Engadine is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored and decorated to maintain its Victorian character and charm. It was converted to an inn in 1994 and has operated as one ever since.
