Edwards Place, built in 1833, was a social center of antebellum Springfield. In its gracious parlors Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, Ulysses S. Grant, and other Illinois luminaries gathered at elegant parties and balls. You, too, can have your special day in the same rooms where Abraham and Mary Lincoln were guests more than 150 years ago, now meticulously restored to the grandeur of their antebellum days. Edwards Place is available to rent for showers, weddings, and receptions – the perfect choice for a distinctive event in a historically significant setting. You can even include extra services for your event, such as the use of a piano often heard by Abraham Lincoln (and possibly played at his wedding!). Our rental space has three areas of possibility - the historic house museum, the grounds in front of Edwards Place, and the M.G. Nelson Gallery, a part of our parent organization, the Springfield Art Association, and directly attached by a doorway to historic Edwards Place.

Our facility is equipped with a variety of utilities and amenities that you might need, with specialist equipment typically available on request. Our center is located in a serene and remote country setting.

Our dynamic pastor will personalize your wedding ceremony to be uniquely and perfectly representative of you and can also officiate offsite if you prefer. Our spacious building provides seating for 1,400 guests, a driveway directly to our front doors for your limo or special transportation, a bridal suite, a groom suite, and an onsite parking lot for your guests. The Barn at Bull Run is a newly renovated wedding and event space. Originally built in 1933 as a dairy barn, The Barn at Bull Run was owned by Schwab Dairy until it was purchased by the Presbytery of Peoria as well as the surrounding land in the fall of 1967. The Morton Park District now owns the property and has completely restored and renovated the space into a beautiful wedding venue, complete with a ceremony space, reception space, bridal suite, and grooms suite. The venue can hold a max capacity of 250 people.

Engelbrecht Farm sits on 8 acres and is located in the heart of farming country. A very unique structural features of the barn is the opening to allow guests to be seated to two levels and both levels can look at the head table for a gallery type feel. The other unique feature is its size. It is the largest actual barn (not modern structure that looks like a barn) within multiple states at 4500 square feet. Adjacent to the barn is the old 4000 square foot feedlot with flower garden and iron pergola. Late in the day makes for a great spot for outdoor games. With the barn comes the recently restored, three bedroom farmhouse originally constructed in the 1890’s. One amazing aspect for the wedding package is it’s a standard three day booking. Families arrive on Friday and check out on Sunday. This gives them time to relax and take the whole experience in. Plus the time is spent making their wedding their own. This is the place for imagination and creativity to really shine.

Atelier 1879 is located in historic Benton Park. This 3,200 sq feet venue provides large open space with bar and 3 other separate spaces that offer unique photo opportunities or anything else if privacy is needed. Atelier 1879 is one of the most unique venues in St. Louis that radiates timeless charm and elegance with breathtaking indoor/outdoor space magic. In addition to the physical space, Atelier 1879 provides photo props that include: 1976 Porsche 911, 1969 BMW 2002, and 1979 BMW R75 Café racer.
