I never thought I would be a wedding photographer. I started my professional career in Boulder, Colorado, riding on the backs of motorcycles, chasing professional cyclists through winding roads and epic climbs. I never thought I would find another career as exhilarating and rewarding but I was wrong. I photographed weddings in Colorado, but it wasn’t until moving East, to Charlottesville, Virginia, that I fell in love with them. I love all of the beauty of the flowers and the pretty clothing, but what I love most is documenting the love between the two of you, and the complete joy of your best day ever. We celebrate all couples!

Pronounced like Eye-lish, I'm a Charlottesville, Virginia wedding photographer. I've been full-time in the industry for 4 years and I love getting the opportunity to memorialize weddings for my clients. I have experience in both photography and cinematography. Jack is a longtime Charlottesville-Albemarle resident, and currently lives in "downtown" Crozet. He's been a full time photographer in Charlottesville's wedding community for 17 years. Specialties include surprise engagements, and weddings ranging in size and complexity from elopements with a handful of guests, to multi-day celebrations with many hundreds of guests.

From developing black and white images in the darkroom to capturing day-to-day happenings as photo manager of the high school yearbook, my camera became an extension of me. I wanted to document the moments of the people I cared about - whether mundane or significant - and create something beautiful. Fast forward ten years and I’ve gone on to complete my Bachelor’s, Master’s, and clinical to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. I’ve had a thriving career at UVA Medical Center for the past five years and witnessed firsthand both the value and fragility of human life.

I’ve been a wedding photographer for 11 years, but I’ve been an artist since I could hold a pencil – and I’ve been in love with stories just as long. Of all the ways to create a life around storytelling and art, I’m so glad to have found this one: weddings are filled with stories both intimate and profound, and with elements of beauty that delight the artist in me. I love the challenge of seeking, finding and capturing the beauty I see, and telling your story as I see it unfolding before me.

At the heart of my process, I believe in being a calming presence who gives you room to be the most genuine version of yourself in front of my camera, gently guiding you with prompts while capturing sophisticated portraits and true moments.
