I started Discoboxx in 2022 to bring a more stylish and tasteful approach to weddings and events in North Carolina. For ten years, I was fortunate to help grow two of the biggest and most successful DJ collectives in Los Angeles, DJing hundreds of weddings and playing at the most stunning event venues and nightlife spots. When my family decided to move to Raleigh, I knew I would have the opportunity to create a new experience for clients in The Tar Heel State looking for something different. A wedding DJ company for couples not looking for a “wedding DJ.”

Adam Clark & Derek Hughes created ‘The Nashville Wedding Band’ in Nashville TN to give their clients an experience of a lifetime. After 25 years of music city experience, performing and working together with some of the biggest names* in Country & Rock, this duo decided to take on a new and exciting journey of establishing a Nashville-based wedding band. My name is Jacob Kalu and I've been djing since the summer of 2009. I started out small djing for pool parties and birthdays, but over the years I have significantly grown my business. Now, my main focus is weddings, however, I still love a good party. I own all of my equipment which allows me to keep my prices at a reasonable rate. Instead of using set playlists, I focus on the atmosphere and the guests at the event and mix my music in a way to keep everyone out on the dance floor. She runs Lune River Harp Studio, which seeks to instill an admiration for the musical arts, inspire students to reach their full potential, and create lasting memories with each performance. Known for her passionate and masterful performances, Bethany plays regularly as a soloist and ensemble member. She has dedicated herself to learning the harp so that she can help others experience its beauty, and to this end, she received her Masters of Music in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan.

Bassist and bandleader Josh Levine got his start in the professional music business busking in SoHo with The Flying Neutrinos in ’93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of NYC with percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista, renowned flutist Itai Kriss making his debut on Cuban trés guitar, and María Raquel on vocals and minor percussion. Before long, the quartet had generated some buzz, several venues hired them to play outdoors and pianist Gabriel Chakarji and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist Jeremy Bosch became staples of the group.

Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Justin Reid has been DJ’ing and entertaining weddings and private events since 2003. His adventures in DJ’ing have taken him to several major cities including Atlanta, Chicago and Las Vegas. He has always had a great love and passion for music, so when the opportunity to become a DJ he jumped at the chance. At first, Justin DJ’d part time on weekends, but over time, he decided to go full-time and dove head first, DJ’ing 4-5 nights a week for various clubs and events. Justin has been a full-time DJ since 2007.
