We had our wedding here in August 2019, And could not have been happier with our decision. The Steamboat Co was the prefect mix of rustic and beautiful, and still provided all of the amenities we wanted (air conditioning, bathrooms, etc). Bethany and Breanne were so helpful throughout the planning process and helped the day go seamlessly. The venue Had the perfect flow of inside and outside space, and our guests raved about the food and drinks. The outside area is beautiful, and great for having the ceremony there. Saugerties is also the perfect little town for a mini destination wedding, with lots of activities near by for guests. After being a bit hesitant to book here, we couldn’t be happier with our decision.

The Lake House was phenomenal to work with. Getting married during a pandemic is stressful enough, but Paul and his team really made it as stress free as possible! The facility is lovely; large, classy, clean, and inviting. The staff was also friendly and courteous, and the food was absolutely fantastic! Carole the banquet manager took care of everything the day of my wedding so I did not have to worry about a thing! If I had any questions or a problem, Paul was quick to reply and even called me when necessary to make sure that our wedding went exactly the way we wanted it to. The flexibility of The Lake House was also great, I was able to make day-of decisions regarding an outdoor wedding and placement of decorations. What I also liked is ours was the only wedding that day, so we were able to use the whole facility, and the staff was dedicated to us the entire evening! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

My first time touring the Barn at Black Walnut Farm I moved along very slowly. Everywhere I looked I found an interesting antique treasure that caught my eye! The barn and house provide so many unique areas to take photos. One of my favorite spots is the lounge which sits on the balcony in the barn; you can overlook the dance floor, get a close-up look of the 4 foot wide disco ball, and feel like you've been transported back in time! The property also has plenty of space for wandering, an outdoor ceremony, relaxing during the reception, yard games, and heck, a perfect place for your guests to pitch a tent and stay the night! In less than half an hour you could be hiking in the Catskill Mountains or stopping by Kaaterskill Falls for some epic waterfall photos (highly recommend)!! If you're looking for rustic barn venue that is TRULY rustic (the barn was built in the 1800's), go check out The Barn at Black Walnut Farm!

We got married at the Beaverkill Valley Inn this February and it was truly special. We are local to the area and had a bit of an expedited timeline after getting engaged in September 2023 and wanting to get married in early 2024. From the first inquiry to BVI, the communication was prompt, professional and informative. They were more than happy to host on a short timeline and the off-peak pricing was ideal for us. The team at BVI is second to none and puts so much care into their work. The whole team, from the General Manager to the waitstaff were kind, welcoming, and on top of their game. Diana, the Event Coordinator, and our main point of contact was a true pleasure to work with. She answered our many questions with patience and was more than flexible in helping create a weekend that was perfect for us. She helped us feel at ease throughout the entire planning process. We chose the BVI for the uniqueness of the venue and also their expertise in hosting weddings. All of our guests raved about the Inn, the staff, and the food (shoutout to Chef Tommy!). We highly recommend the BVI for your wedding or event. It's just as beautiful in the winter too!

Woodwinds

4.3

Branford, CT
  • Up to 600 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $110

WoodWinds is one of the most sought after Connecticut wedding venues for wedding receptions, banquets, corporate events or any special occasion, in the Tri-State area. A wedding in our impressive European Country Manor will reflect your personal vision. Imagine a magical experience, enhanced by a unique ceremony and reception on the beautiful grounds of WoodWinds. Envision standing on a grand staircase under the twinkle of Austrian Crystal chandeliers, taking pictures in a magnificent garden and dancing the night away on a marble dance floor.

The Woodwinds made my dreams a reality… When we first walked into the woodwinds and met Vanessa, we were blown away by the staircase. I immediately could picture my fiancé and I taking pictures there with our wedding party. As we walked through vanessa painted such a beautiful picture of what our day would look like and how easy everything would be. We were told “all you need is a DJ, Photographer, and JP and we take care of the rest” they were not kidding. I mean we actually had someone the night of our wedding basically thinking for us. He was like a tour guide taking us step by step through our night. The entire process from booking to partying was absolutely seamless. Vanessa toured us, answered all of our questions, even my moms questions while we face timed her during our tour, and helped us with the contract so we could lock in our date for this beautiful venue. Once we had our date, Michael took over and I must say… he rocks!!!!!! He is like a floorplan guru. We explained where we wanted everything and as we spoke he was rearranging everything live. We wanted to do a memorial table, photo booth, welcome table, favor table and he just had space for everything. FYI they have this thing called the MTA…it is a lifesaver. As we got our RSVP’s in, it was so overwhelming, but Michael was to the rescue and when I called him he sent it right over and explained it and having a space to organize our RSVP’s and what meals each guest were getting was so helpful. The best part is when I started getting those calls…”oh don’t sit me with Joann”…it was so easy to drag them to another table. All the woodwinds staff was so knowledgeable about the venue and the food. I didn’t know what to write on our invitation cards for meal selections so I called them up and Kate answered and knew what every food dish was and explained it in such detail I was starving after the conversation. The planning team was impeccable…the night of our wedding was just as smooth and its almost like all the employees were sitting in our meetings and phone calls because they all knew exactly what we wanted, where all the decorations went, even down to what my favorite drink was so I never had to ask. I’m so happy we got married at woodwinds and they made our dreams come true. We could not have asked for a better experience and we may have to start doing anniversary parties just to go back!!!

The Barn At Montague Retreat Center

5.0

Montague, MA
  • Up to 190 guests
  • Limited services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $5,000

Welcome! We are so glad you are considering the Montague Retreat Center for hosting your wedding! Our team wishes to help personalize your experience in our extraordinary place. Our lush Ceremony Circle, nestled up to the apple orchard, sits beneath one of the oldest maple groves in Massachusetts, with a stunning view across the valley. Our Stone Patio features a permanent 40’ x 50’ reception tent and a 75’ long retaining wall/bench. Our elegant, rustic Great Hall barn has chestnut beams, bamboo floors, lots of glass and geothermal cooling. Visit our website to learn more about our rich history! Montague couples will work with our exclusive catering team, Wheelhouse for food & bar. Some of our other amenities include 10 on-site accommodations, yurt, an ADA-compliant lift, and accessible restrooms. Two streams run through the property and the Robert Frost Trail is within walking distance.

When we started planning our July wedding, we knew that we wanted a beautiful, eco-conscious, outdoor venue in the rolling Massachusetts hills where we could host guests for the whole weekend and people could camp and sit by a fire at night. We weren’t sure we’d find someplace that checked all those boxes; then we found the Montague Retreat Center. It was everything we were looking for and more. We loved that we had the whole weekend to see our guests and that they got to know the place, too. The Center already has a tent set up for the reception, and the venue was so well set up with its own furniture and catering-ready kitchen, that other vendors kept telling us how delighted they were to be going back there. We had around 100 guests, about 25 of which camped at the Center. The camp site is in a pine forest on the property, and our camping guests were all very happy with their stay and with the facilities. A lot happens in a wedding weekend, but the staff is prepared for anything and everything. The caretaker, John, was particularly notable in how quickly and quietly he took care of the facilities while we were there. We’d turn around and he’d have taken care of the trash or put another few logs on the fire. It was easy and wonderful. It was wonderful to have things like lights already set up, and a room of wedding decorations others have left to reuse or leave instead of stress about bringing everything and cleaning it all up. We were glad they compost everything and the facility even runs on geo-thermal heating/cooling. We took the Retreat Center’s recommendations for almost all of our vendors, and they were all wonderful (especially Wheelhouse Catering for our reception and Jackie M coordinating all of our vendors and the day of the wedding). We got flowers from Red Fire Farm, and sent our guests to check out the Montague Book Mill (and took photos there ourselves!). We are so glad we found the Montague Retreat Center!
