My name is Joel Martinez, I'm a wedding and event photographer based in Sussex County New Jersey. Born in The Bronx, I grew up in Monroe, NY. I spent my early years traversing through the streets of NYC. I now live in New Jersey. I visit the city often. I studied Communication at the University at Buffalo - SUNY, where I discovered my love for photography. I am also a member of NYC Prime Shot. When I’m not taking pictures of people and events, I love to travel the world, play video games, watch movies and anime, play basketball, and take pictures of my dog Mikey!

A dad, a son, a brother and a jack of all trades musician that loves to rock out any chance I get. I grew up in New York City. My inclination towards photography came from classic street photography and photojournalists from all over the world that told their stories through a lens. It made me pick up a camera and start shooting. Now, living in Maryland I shoot all sorts of stories and moments locally, domestically, and abroad. It's taken me a while to figure out what my "thing" is but I've come to figure out that I'm a milestone photographer. The moments your life that have proven to be meaningful -- I'll be there.

I was introduced to the world of photography the same week I was introduced to the world! All thanks to my Dad, who was never without his camcorder or camera. Because of him, our memories growing up are preserved. Then I got my first camera + tons of film. I documented everything. When film turned into digital, that was a turning point in my life.
