Local Effort

Local Effort specializes in personal and event cooking, with an emphasis on local ingredients. We provide plated, coursed meals akin to a restaurant experience, more casual family-style meals, and appetizer-focused cocktail party service, all with the same ingredient-obsessed quality.

Catherine and I have 30 years of combined high-quality food and beverage experience. We make our own breads, pastry, and our chocolate. We source as many ingredients as possible from Minnesota or Wisconsin, including all meat, dairy, grain, and vegetables - the average meal we serve is 70% local - and pay close attention to ingredients that don't grow here, like olive oil or wine. The food is always better here.

    Local Effort has been a part of several smaller events I have hosted as well as a large family reunion. The food is delicious, creative and presented beautifully. Weston worked with me to develop a menu that would fit each event I have hosted and Catherine makes the most delicious treats.

    I hired Weston and Catherine for my husband’s 50th dinner party. The food and experience exceeded all expectations. From there I recommend them to family and friends and had many more wonderful dining experiences. Their food is creative, thoughtful, high quality, and visually beautiful. They are interesting and lovely people—experienced and always willing to make an accommodations or changes so that your meal is what you want. Cannot recommend highly enough!!
