Owner Diana Skenderovic, has always loved flowers. As a little girl, she enjoyed every bloom in her mother’s garden. She fulfilled her lifelong dream when she became a part of one of the leading floral design companies in the Washington, D.C. area. As the Director for Special Events and Weddings, for 12 years she was part of the design team and truly loved her job. Diana has always enjoyed meeting new clients, designing and organizing, and finally bringing clients’ vision to reality.

Our attention to detail, exceptional designs and customer service, for sure set Black Calla Events apart. As a boutique floral design and decor company, it gives the owner Diana opportunity to work closely with each client and give them all the attention needed. Each piece is designed with lots of love for each and every client.

    I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Diana and Black Calla Events. The florals at my wedding brought everything together and I was speechless when I walked into my reception for the first time. Diana brought my vision to life ten times over and went above and beyond by expectations. She was so patient with me through our calls to discuss what I wanted and emails back and forth leading up to the big day. Her execution was flawless and my guests raved about our florals!

Her communication and organization helped us so much throughout the process. Diana is not only a genuinely nice person, but she is very knowledgeable and helpful with all floral aspects!     I cannot say enough good things about Diana and her team at Black Calla Events. My wedding was a Covid wedding originally scheduled for May of 2020 and up rooted due to the pandemic. Diana stuck with us the entire time as we navigated moving our date not once, but twice. She was beyond supportive as our original venue went out of business just three months before our finalized date of November 2021. Due to this last minute pivot to a new venue, we no longer had early set up access to the new venue as originally planned with our first venue. The Black Calla Team went above the call of duty to help to set up our venue along with our flowers to make vision a reality the day of our wedding. It would not have been possible without their flexibility and support. I do not think you can get this kind of service from a huge floral company. This is a small, family run operation that values their customers and their artist creativity. Their dedication to your day and vision is evident from first consultation to the start of your ceremony. I cannot recommend Black Calla Events enough and grateful every time I look back at my photos and the beautiful flowers that made the day complete!

    Diana was recommended to me by a friend and it was a fantastic recommendation. My now husband and I were planning our DC wedding from abroad. Covid caused us to reschedule four times. Diana was thoughtful and thorough. She nailed my vision and was lovely to work with. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone with attention to detail, listens and can provide a visual as an example before committing to the floral arrangement. I was delighted with all the wedding flowers. Diana is the best!
