Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

I could not be happier with how my wood flowers turned out from Jen. She went above and beyond in making my floral vision come true for my wedding. Her communication was great throughout the entire process as well. And I am so excited to have these flowers forever!! Jen is just wonderful to work with! Jen is quick to respond and always there to answer questions! She offers a lot of options to choose from, along with a variety of styles arrangements, all to your custom liking! I personally went with a large bouquet, corsages, boutonnieres and arch swag. My parents, in laws and myself all have our own personal keepsake from wedding day. Having the opportunity to admire such a beautiful arrangement for years to come, reminding me of the most intimate part of the day, is just worth it. I received so, so many compliments and all came along with “wow” after realizing they were wood arrangements! Everyone, along with myself, just loved and couldn’t believe how beautiful and unique each arrangement was. Thank you Jen for being apart of our special day that I’ll be able to keep forever.

I am so thankful that I used Wood & Word Blooms for my wedding flowers. Jen was so patient and kind while I obsessed over what colors to have for my flowers since my main color was sage and that isn't ideal for florals (In my opinon). From the moment I started planning my wedding I knew I wanted something that was not real because I have a lot of allergies and I wanted to be able to keep it forever. When I came across Wood & Word Blooms, I first did a class. Once I did that, I knew this was the perfect place for my wedding florals. I am so grateful that I can still have my bouquet and other florals weeks to years after my wedding. Every time I see them hanging I smile because it reminds me of my special day.

While I do not have a minimum, my average wedding is $1500-$2500 with larger weddings ranging $3000+. I take on a limited number of micro-wedding orders when my schedule allows.

Typically, the sweet spot for booking me is 9-12 months in advance as I take a limited number of weddings each month. I book up to about a year and half out; however, due to ever changing cost of supplies I do not book weddings farther out than this. I definitely recommend having a few details figured out first. For example: Have you selected the location for your ceremony/ reception? What’s your wedding style? Do you have your dress picked out? This can help make sure your florals work with your overall vision.

As a faux flower florist specializing in sola wood, things works a bit different. I aim to have your florals complete 1 month prior to your wedding, so you have one less thing to stress about on your day. I do not offer delivery/set up. You may pick up your flowers when they are ready or have them shipped anywhere in the US!

With wood flowers (or silk or paper), no flower is ever out of season. Isn't that great! With me, you can pick your flower style and even the exact colors you'd like them to be! You can have sunflowers in winter or purple and teal roses...no limit to your vision!

No need! Sola wood flowers won't wilt and will stay just as they are for years to come. I recommend keeping out of direct sunlight and away from where they might be knocked. Occasional light dusting is helpful, as well. You can choose to deconstruct your bouquet and make it into a beautiful arrangement, heart board, shadow box or more or just leave your bouquet in a vase as gorgeous centerpiece.

No. Besides hand-painted wood flowers, I can also work with silk flowers and paper flowers. I also occasionally work in fabric flowers, as well.

Sola wood flowers are made of natural and sustainable resources. The main 3 plants are the cassava, Aeschynomene aspera, or balsa wood which are shaved in to thin sheets and used to make the wood flowers. They are biodegradable and their natural color is a light ivory.

No, I do not work with fresh flowers at all. I do use dried and preserved florals sometimes in my work but I hand paint sola wood flowers for my weddings and events and combine these with faux greenery. Wood flowers are made from a biodegradable, earth-friendly materials called sola wood.
